Hart
Zabaleta Fonte Ogbonna Masuaku
Rice
Noble Obiang
Arnautovic Hernandez Ayew

Right on half time, a Payet/Arnautovic freekick finds the head of Kouyate/Obiang who gives us the leader. Into the second half Zarate/Ayew cuts inside and drills home past a despairing Cech/De Gea.

De Ja Vu was had by all.

Is Reid eligible then?

---------------------- Hart ---------------------------
Zaba ----- Reid ----- Ogbonna ---- Masuaku
----------- Noble --------- Obiang ----------------
Ayew ------------ Lanzini ----------- Arnautovic
----------------- Hernandez -----------------------

My money's on this line up. Fonte for Reid if not available...

We will be utterly destroyed. 4-0 to them.
Sky will also cream themselves at half time.

I have a vision of Hernandez scoring the winner against his old club. Or have I had too many glasses of wine with my dinner?

If I were Slav i would make us as tough as possible and I wouldn't really care what the travelling fans thought. I'd go there with

Hart

Zabaletta Reid ogbonna credswell
arnaoutic obiang noble fernandes masuaku
Martinez (I know he's young but I don't think Hernandez will start)

The team lacks ability on paper but it has balance And a bit of pace.
I would not play wing backs away at Man Utd. We will get torn a new one

No one has mentioned they have a super cup game Tuesday v Real Madrid in Macedonia , Jose looks as if he wants to win it as well as it is a cup that had eluded him previously , hears hoping they pick up a few knocks for next Sunday.

I think we've done some good business so far in the transfer window but we are still carrying too many injuries and our lack of depth is going to hurt us. I have no confidence going into this match, but then I felt the same two season's ago going to Arsenal for the opener. Hopefully, history might repeat itself.

Prior to seeing us Friday I had this down as a nailed on defeat , but now I'm thinking we may get a point unless they come out of the blocks on fire .

We're a bit light in one or two areas but we're not a pub team .My main concern would be the impact Pogba and , bizarrely, Fellani may have if he comes off the bench .

I'd be tempted to pick Rice and stick him on Lukaku all afternoon .

a tall ask for a 17 year old though. If he starts he has to be in midfield where he has played a few times not in defence.
slav will go for experience
They will hate us more than normal as we have a couple of city players with us now. Hart to play a blinder and chico with the winner !
shame antonio is not fit for this one, him on one side and arnie on the other would really test them.

Hart
zab reid ogbonna masuaka
obiang noble
ayew lanzini arnautovic
chico

subs adrian byram fonte cresswell rice fernandez martinez

So Reid's pre season red card means nothing?

That is great news. Next year can we play Spurs pre season and poll axe them all please?

I for one think we look sharp and will create a fair few chances to score. Watched Hernandez again on Eurosport vs city and his ability to not only hold the ball for a small guy but the ability to lay it off 1st time is absolute quality.

we looked far from sharp in any pre season game. against city we couldnt get near yaya who was at walking pace !
several players look unfit slow lazy and cant be bothered and snodgrass only played a few minutes !
hernandez did look good for the brief spell he got but he wont last more than an hour ! martinez to replace him I guess unless we sign gray by then.

Slow motion replays of Mourinho celebrating, Pogba and Lukaku dabbing and me coming on here saying I can't wait until May

He already ruined Burke and Oxford for a goal in each game against them.

He'd have the debut of his life up against Rice.

We'll still lose but that's about as good as we are.
