This 19th century football without parking the bus!
Hopefully we can get to half time without conceding another. In the 2nd half we need to get Sakho on and push farther forward and stretch them at the back as right now they're far too comfortable.

Completely beaten in midfield Obiang, Noble and Fernandes not tough enough in the tackle poor on the ball! This Fernandes isn't going to be good enough! He's done nothing in a year to suggest he is going to contribute longs term in our midfield

If we can get the ball to Hernandez we might have a chance he does look sharp today.

.
This is so painful, we can't string 3 passes together and give the ball away when we get it. Strolling thru our midfield like it doesn't exist and we've not passed into their box in 40 mins (only 2 crosses in too). Nothing has changed. Decent enough team so it all points to Bilic, interesting how the king of boring sets us up 2nd half

So the main problem here is the fact we are giving the ball straight back, which wouldn't be part of Bilic's plan today would it?

Half a game at Old Trafford without some of our better players and you **** the manager off. Pathetic.

We need more than Carvalho to plug that hole in centre midfield, it's like the parting of the waves.
Any manager with tactical awareness will know that we have a soft centre which is easily exploited, just pressure into submission.

Sakho for the ineffective Ayew for me.

Unfortunately means shifting Fernandes into wide right but needs must.

Problem is Bilic never really looks like he has got a game plan! He's popped 3 in the midfield there and sat us deep ... if he has meant to do that at Old Trafford management isn't really his game is it?

I quite like what I have seen from us so far. There is still the loose play in midfield where we should be winning the ball, but we are organised defensively and looking OK. That Hernandez shot right at the end there is proof we are still very much in this game and we will get another chance or two

Noble needs to be further up the pitch now. He's looking bright on the ball. If we can get this Carvalho fella he can play higher up as the Lanzini alternative.
