He already is. And he's still got plenty of time on his hands to improve even more.

I like that alot, would like to see Hakšabanović (*yes I googled it) on the pitch for the first half atleast.fjthegrey wrote:FJ's Festival of Football, Gallop Over the Opposition Cheltenham Town Lineup.

That defence looks shocking even against lower level opposition. Couple of old timers and a dodgy defender, Cheltenham Centre Forwards should be licking their lips with the state of our defence at the moment. I just hope our forward players want it enough on the night to out score them.

Yep, Sakho needs as much game time as possible to get him sharp.fjthegrey wrote:FJ's Festival of Football, Gallop Over the Opposition Cheltenham Town Lineup.

Just heard on the radio that the draw for the nerxt round is taking place live in BEIJING on Wednesday morning 04.15am London time, presumably this is part of the sponsorship deal.

Great win for the U'23 team today. Going from 0-2 to victory 3-2 against Spurs!
Great! Holland and Martinez played so they won't be playing Wednesday I guess. But no sight of Quina or Haksabanovic, so I presume they will travel...

Yet another benefit of playing our home tie away .JCA wrote:Just heard on the radio that the draw for the nerxt round is taking place live in BEIJING on Wednesday morning 04.15am London time, presumably this is part of the sponsorship deal.
Half of us will still be on the way home and we can tune in on the wireless to listen to who we would have got .

Re: West Ham Utd vs Cheltenham Town: match thread
I went down to Cheltenham's ground last Friday. I didn't notice any pubs nearby and the town seemed a fair old walk away. I think they try and get people to park their cars up at the racecourse and catch the buses. That seemed relatively close but never saw any boozers round there either,AndyWHUFC39 wrote:Looking forward to this one as we may actually have a chance! anyone know the away pub for this one? will be there around 4 i think.
Hopefully one of the local Hammers will have better info.

Not really any pubs near the ground but plenty towards the Bath Road end of town. This is a fifteen to twenty five minute walk from the ground.
There's a wetherspoons called moon under water there or loads of other pubs if you prefer. Lots of places to get food that end of town as well.

Not quite true.prophet:marginal wrote:Crack out the C&B specs, if you honestly think we have any chance of ever winning a trophy.
Even if we had a run of straightforward fixtures, we will be knocked out by the first top 8 Prem side we come across.
As per.
Avram was one of the worst managers we've had but he did bloody well for us in both the Cups that season.
I even think we would've beaten Arsenal had we not capitulated against Birmingham City in that league cup semi final second leg.
If we get a bit of luck with the draws and play our strongest team you never know. Confidence is low and we can't afford to muck about with putting in our weaker players, revert to three at the back to keep it solid and just change Adrian, Collins and replace Arnautovic.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Cheltenham Town: match thread
I have never seen Cheltenham play, couldn't name one of their players and had to look up what division they are in .
I expect them to be able to run around a lot , have a few players who are quite large and have some decent basic organisation :I'm not expecting them to zonal mark at corners , or take short ones themselves .We'll need to match them physically before we earn the right to show off our silky skills .
I'd be certain to have some confident penalty takers on the pitch come the final whistle , just in case .In short , night for experience and presence , not youth and enthusiasm .
With all of that in mind, and assuming Reid is injured but Kouyate is fit , I'd go
--------------------------------------------Adrian (cup keeper)--------------------------
----------------------------Kouyate------Collins ------Ogbonna--------------
----Antonio-----------------Rice----------- ------Obiang---------------Cresswell
--------------------------------------------Noble----------------------------------
----------------------------Hernandez--------------------Ayew -------------------------
Players in bold - pen takers .
Bench - Fonte, Hart, Carroll, Masuaku,Fernandes, Zabaleta ,Martinez

Re: West Ham Utd vs Cheltenham Town: match thread
Antonio might have an interesting greeting, he used to play for Cheltenham Town once upon a time!
I'd like to see a strong team to get some confidence back in the side! Hopefully it won't go to penalties and we can get a decent win. However. . .

If West Ham and England move to three at the back with wing backs he'll be an England player within two years.costa75 wrote:Byram will never be a premier league player. In any position.....

Not a chance bubs.
I like him, I rate him, but there are simply too many options in front of him, of a good age, who will keep him well away from the team.
