Second place v. the bottom of the table side, is an upset on the cards?
Can't believe I'm saying this but it's must-win game. Win and Slav stays, lose and he's gone, has to. You could argue 4 games into the season is far too early but the form of last season has to be taken into account too.
I hope he reinstates Rice, drops Fernandes and keeps Collins at CH. Will Reid be back?
But beyond the formation and picking the side, more importantly is the quality of the coaching that goes on between now and the game. Slav and his team have to get it right.

Huddersfield will really fancy this, they look good on the counter so will happily sit back and wait for an opportunity. Alongside a crowd that will be getting more edgy the longer we're not winning I actually can't see us getting anything unfortunately, and I'm always pretty positive.

Think consensus iis that it would astonishing if Bilic was still in charge for this game. It is way beyond his ability to turn this around a win will not save him in any casesince86 wrote:Second place v. the bottom of the table side, is an upset on the cards?

3-5-2
Adrian
Reid
Collins
Ogbonna
Cresswell
Byram
Obiang
Kouyate
Lanzini
Hernandez
Sakho
Reid captain. Lanzini in the middle of the five pushing forward, Obiang and Kouyate shielding the back three, Cresswell and Byram as wingbacks. Bring on Antonio for the last half hour to bully their tiring defence. If Reid isn't fit, start with Kouyate in his position and add Antonio to the midfield.
Subs : Hart, Fonte, Rice, Noble, Antonio, Masuaku, Zabaleta.
Counter attack, high press...whatever, just do what we have to do to get three points. Performance is totally irrelevant, scoreline at close of play is all that matters.
Will snap your hand off for a 1-0 win right now.

Re: West Ham Utd v Huddersfield Town: Match thread
We can all sit here and talk about team selections and formations all day long but if the eleven players on the field aren't 'up for it' (which they haven't been for 2 1/2 of our 3 league games thus far) then it's pointless even playing the match at all and pointless for anyone to go and watch it. Why don't these ****ing players look interested? That's the million dollar question....

Bilics big opportunity to kick start the season again. f*** it up though and he could well be gone. A lot riding on the game now.

Noble cannot start anymore. The only thing he does well is bait people into fouling him. He is too slow. Why in the hell has Obiang been put on the bench?

Re: West Ham Utd v Huddersfield Town: Match thread
It's that desperate already? We always had our spiritual home as a comfort zone in times like this...that same sense doesn't apply at the sterile bowl. Huddersfield are in the first flushes of being a fearless new addition to the division and have started well. I don't know very much or given them much regard up til now. If I was to educate myself, there would be a list of names, perhaps only Tom Ince I am familiar with.
I won't name a Hammers team, I'm too disgusted with the application so far and it wouldn't make much difference because individual ability is only as good as the will of the player to put it to the best use possible.
All I can hope for is that when I witness this game, the players put in a team performance that I could walk away from, knowing they have given their all...no matter who played...

Just a heads up.
For those that might still go before a (home?) match, that day, Nathan's p&m will be open from 11am til 7-ish.
I really should be on commision...
