Re: Andy Carroll
It's interesting the position Slav takes on AC in terms of telling the truth.
In the time Bilic has been at the club, Carroll has been injured most of the time. When not injured he has played well, scored goals, contributed to the team
But when he's injured Bilic gets asked "When is AC coming back?" And Bilic always lies about this.
Paints a rosier picture, plays down his injury, says he might be back next week, claims it's not too serious.
And so my question is this: why the bullsh*t Slav? You didn't sign him, his lifestyle and approach to fitness is not your fault, he's not out on the booze with you Slav - you aren't the club medical/fitness coach (tho appointing your mate as fitness coach was a big mistake.
So where's the pressure to lie about Carroll coming from? The Daves? The player himself, the club in general?
Why all the lies? I just don't get it

Jack Charlton rolled out the excuse that Paul McGrath's knees were playing up each time he was missing on a bender, I reckon it's something similar.

Re: Andy Carroll
Man jailed for attempting to rob AC
A man has been jailed for trying to rob footballer Andy Carroll of his £22,000 wristwatch as the striker drove home from West Ham's training ground.
Jack O'Brien, 22, claimed he was not the motorbike rider who targeted Mr Carroll as he waited at traffic lights in north-east London, on 2 November.
Mr Carroll told Basildon Crown Court he believed O'Brien had a gun.
O'Brien, of Navarre Gardens, Romford, was given six years, with another five years three months for other crimes.
The sentences are to run consecutively.

I met Paul McGrath many years ago, The Ireland team were in Cork to play a friendly international warm up before a qualifier game ( I think ) or else before going to the world cup.
I was in this nightclub and bumped into Paul who was totally pissed drunk.
I was surprised to see him and said to him " How's it going Paul, what the hell are you doing here, are you lost?"
He looked at me and put his two hands on my shoulders and said "Err..yeah that's it I got lost, that's perfect, thanks so much man" and off he went smiling out the door

Re: Andy Carroll
We are such a better team when he plays. Provides another dimension. I will be going to church from now until the end of the season praying he stays fit.

Re: Andy Carroll
We should have signed a back up for him yonks ago. We cant keep changing tactics when we dont have him...one of the reasons we have so many square peg players. He is the one player the team should be built around. Someone like Crouch or Bony would be happy knowing they would play 50-70% of the season when hes injured. Keep the same tactics and rythym without him instead we have Hernandez and Ayew..polar opposites.

He was a beast eh. Service wasn't great, but he looked like he hadn't been out for 5 months.
Fingers crossed he stays fit.

Re: Andy Carroll
Anyone else find it funny that Carroll now has more minutes this season than Iheanacho.
Great to have the big man back. Hopefully we are able to manage him for the rest of the season. With Chicharito and Shako back into the squad, we should do the right time and rotate Carroll out every so often to preserve him in the long run.

Re: Andy Carroll
For how long he has been out, massive credit as he looked on the money from the start yesterday
It's such a shame any game time out of him is a bonus, as you cannot rely on him being fit
I can see a problem developing for Bilic, if starting Carroll means we have to shoehorn Hernandez out into a wide position. If both starting, they have to both play central imo.
