Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
A key factor could be Valteri Bottas. Hamilton has 6 wins so far to Vettel's 4 but only has a 3 point lead because Vettel has picked up more 2nd places than Hamilton. If Bottas can split Hamilton and Vettel a few times in some of the remaining races, like he did today, it could make a massive difference.

What ever happens they have to sort this grid penalty **** out, horrible for the sport.
I think Red Ball can get in the mix in the dark and it might not be all Ferrari's way.

Vettel on pole and lewis in fifth with little chance of overtaking. I think I might give this week a miss.

You are joking aren't you? Certainly the start will be a cracker, both Red Bulls very fast and aggressive off the line.kayahammer wrote:Vettel on pole and lewis in fifth with little chance of overtaking. I think I might give this week a miss.
Looking forward to Max making what Mark Webber in commentary calls a "make your own arrangements I'm coming through" move on SV on the first lap.
I'm going to predict some contact and a Red Bull, probably DR leading by end of lap 1

Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
Perfect start - Vettel out, Lewis up to 1st. Taken out by this team mate, via Verstappen.
Both Ferrari's out and Verstappen.
Vettel probably at fault, i wonder if he holds his hands up (doubt it)

Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
Hamilton wins in a time limited race. Vettel off to explain himself to the stewards, a grid penalty would be lovely just to rub it in.
Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
Racing incident? My arse. Feel sorry for young Max, totally sandwiched.
EDIT: Also Alonso who had one of the best starts in recent memory only to be swept aside in the melee.

How much energy and carbon emissions are wasted by manufacturing and transporting how ever many hundreds of tyres F1 uses each and every race?mumbles87 wrote:"Lewis Hamilton says he is aiming to become a vegan in an attempt to pursue the healthiest possible lifestyle and avoid damaging the planet."

Good call. I actually ended up watching it, and can't stop watching the replays of the start. Vettell to blame for me. Racing incident my ass.Bend it like Repka wrote:You are joking aren't you? Certainly the start will be a cracker, both Red Bulls very fast and aggressive off the line.

Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
Well, didn't see that result after qualifying on Saturday! To be honest, I didn't even see Lewis on the podium. but cometh the rain, cometh the master. It couldn't really have worked out much better, maximum points for Hamilton and a DNF for Vettel. Too early to count your chickens but yesterday was a massive momentum changer. Vettel is now the one chasing, trying to cut back the deficit and if he tries too hard (which is quite likely) he may make further mistakes.

Re: KUMB General Formula 1 News thread
I've had a look on the usual websites and seen explanations and opinions from Verstappen and Raikkkkkonnnnnennnn, nothing from Vettel. Can't think why.

Fantastic driver.....arguably one of the best, but I just can't warm to him.
