nobes had a better than average game for him but slows us down too much.
carroll football is not going to win you many games. I would start him against swansea who he always does well against.
ogbonna was all over the place.
reid and fonte were ok
cresswell was poor time for arthur
arnie moments of quality but early days for him
hernandez - must play upfront central. put him there and he scores.
kouyate played well great header and competitive in the middle but had noble next to him. hopefully obiang and lanzini back on saturday.

great game and we were unlucky to lose. onto another must win game against swansea.

Unlucky to lose? I thought the scoreline flattered us.

Was a strange one for me. Spurs are obviously better than us but I don’t think they’re as great as they’re made out and we really got at them until Antonio had to come off. Our game-plan completely changed when Carroll came on and the two goals in quick succession knocked the stuffing out of us. We really do miss Lanzini’s creation in the middle.

Even at 3-0 down it did not feel like some of the hidings other of the big boys have given us in the last 18 months (Arsenal, City and Liverpool spring to mind) where we offered absolutely nothing and they looked like scoring with every attack. I know we conceded three but Hart hardly had a save to make and as usual, the result was more down to our shortcomings rather than the other team’s exceptional football.

No one played overly badly (again, like in previous hidings we’ve been given where most in C&B have been completely shocking) but I just wish we could have ONE game a season where we have a fully fit squad with all players raring to go. I also wish that Slav would be a bit quicker with his substitutions when it’s clear whatever is happening on the pitch isn’t working.

I think we’re in a relegation battle this season and as nice a positive result at the weekend would have been, it’s more important we get at least 5 points from the next 3 games.

See, I was expecting a mass evacuation at that point but nobody in my area budged, and looking across at the East stand very very few did as well .

Compared with most matches last season the vast majority stayed until the end .At least it looked like that to me .

I can't help but think that we may not have conceded the first two goals if we played with two CB's & an out and out DM.
When the mistakes are made and we lose possession, Noble & Kouyate are out of the game.
This means Reid for the first goal & Reid & Fonte for the second are sucked forward to attack the ball leaving space behind to exploit.
Rice will not displace Noble/Kouyate/Obiang from the starting eleven so our manager needs to lay down the law and instruct one of them to be disciplined and sit.
That is until we recruit a specialist.

.
That's how I saw it too - People blame the Andy Carroll substitution but he had played an integral part in the Huddersfield win and the draw at West Brom and Bilic thought that he was the best choice ahead of Ayew and Sakho - To me the natural sub for Antonio would have been Sakho but is he 100% fit ? - would he in turn have needed substituted , we do not know , apart from Bolton he's only featured late on in most matches so far this season since coming on for 30 minutes in the Man Utd game . Whatever the reason it's a shame as he was once an effective player for West Ham .

Carroll showed its not just the time he is out injured which is bad enough, its the games it takes him to get back to anything like match fitness, both physically and mentally. His brain clearly was not on the pitch this weekend and his body on a different plane and with our shambolic defending we can hardly afford that on top.

As others have said, how we miss that specialist defensive midfielder, its pure farce that you can lose the ball twice in midfield and within seconds its in the back of your net as defenders get pulled out of position or flounder in panic not knowing whether to move or stick and usually doing something in between. Comes to something when even your fullback doesn't bother to track back as Cresswell couldn't be bothered for that first goal.

There were quite a few in an around us (BMU) that left when the third went in but in general the exodus was not as bad as has been at other games and from the moment Aurier was sent off I dont recall too many departures. I really thought we were going to snatch the draw as I guess did most that stayed till the bitter end.

Thought we played ok until Antonio went off and ithe change threw us. Couldn't see from my seat re the offsides for the first two goals. Thought Carroll was the wrong choice, Ayew was the smarter move, but hey.

However Carroll was defo pushed as he was lining up the header in injury time. Also I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the elbow thrown at Carroll by Llorente, saw it as clear as day at the time. Ref had his back turned but the Lino should have seen it.

Aurier was a red card waiting happen, should have gone earlier IMO.

Haven't seen the game back in TV. Thought we stood toe to toe with a top four-six team and played ok. Bloody lapses in concentration are irksome. Need a win next Saturday.

It did briefly cross my mind. My daughter is massively against doing this though, so it's not ever really on the cards when I'm with her.

I think it's fair to say that were lanzini fit and antonio not gone off injured it would have been a very different match. But what worries me is the fact that if both of them are out we really suffer, whether it's spurs or anyone else. We didn't deserve anything from the match.

The reason I asked is that I saw many leaving from the BM and in the corners of the East and West Stands. Also quite a few behind me in the East. You are right that it happened quite a lot last year (and perhaps more) but I find strange that when you propose to support a team some can abandon them when that support is most needed.

Similar to me and my slush puppy. The ice took an age to melt.

Trouble with Kane is he's very instinctive player, not playing two cb's and a dm is gifting him a few chances in my opinion and we all know he doesn't need many.
