Today i bumped into...

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Jim Frecklington on a train up to London last night. Who's he? He's the Queen's carriage maker - made the Diamond Jubilee Stage Coach. A very pleasant Australian chap who was great to talk with - on his way to a meeting with 'The Boss'. Contrasted totally with the moshpit at the Jesus and Mary Chain gig I ended up in at the end of the night!!

I've met the Queen's saddler. She's a Netherlander that used to be an architect.

Tessa Wyatt, ex-wife of Tony Blackburn. Put 2 and 2 together and realised that the posh-sounding shortarse a couple of doors down is his kid.

Quite literally, our very own (?!) Karen Brady, in Basingstoke's Waitrose this afternoon. She was filming for something and she narrowly avoided being mowed down by my well stocked and well aimed trolley ... this fella seemed to be having more luck as it looks like he was throttling her ....

I'm currently standing about five metres away from Jo Brand, in the downstairs bar at the Old Vic. I was also at a party that Eddie Redmayne was at last Saturday, but I didn't recognise him!

My sister questioned whether it definitely was her; if it wasn't one has to feel sorry for the poor woman as she looks like Jo Brand but presumably doesn't have her talent or money.

Pixie Lott in the Cruched Friars. She looked good, if a bit on the skinny side. Her sister was decent enough too, if a bit plastered.
