Little things that irritate you

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Banks. Never needed anything much from mine over the years, been with Santander over 20 years, have a mortgage with them as well.

Now when I need some short term help with the business as cashflow is difficult (but with a resolution within 3 weeks) will they help, will they f***! Basically until things go completely tits up they're not interested.

"Here to help your business prosper" my arse!

I went into our high street Lloyds today to withdraw some dough, only to discover that they've replaced the counters with 4 ATMs and a couple iPads that link back to their website. There's one staff there, and I told her I needed £1500 cash, to which she replied I could only take a max of £1k out, unless I went to another branch where there's still a counter.

WTF? Why even have the branch then? Move the cash machine outside and close it completely - don't act like you're still providing some sort of high street service.

I'm sorry to hear that HDO. I hope things resolve themselves and that you manage to get through this.

Good luck.

Was in a similar position a few months ago, a company going bust on us plus cash flow, Bank couldn't have been less helpful.

Crap slogans.

On my way to work, I go past an office which has this painted on the wall in big letters (presumably to try to motivate the staff):

IF YOU DON'T LIKE CHANGE, YOU'LL LIKE IRRELEVANCE EVEN LESS

Yes, I understand what it means, but it's stating the bleedin' obvious in a completely ham-handed way.
