West Ham Utd 2-3 Newcastle Utd (23/12/17)
The two Uniteds clash, nothing less than three points will suffice after we threw the Cup game.

Before Lanzini's ban I felt quite confident that we would win this. The problem we have now is that we have no creativity without him. That was obvious from last night's game, and it needs to be addressed in January, but I doubt it will be. On that basis, although I obviously want the 3 points I would be ok if we draw and have Lanzini ready for the Xmas period.

Hopefully Obiang will put his boots on the right feet this time!

One of the worst individual performances I've seen someone have for us in a while - and thats saying something!claretandblue82 wrote:Hopefully Obiang will put his boots on the right feet this time!
I feel if we combined him and Noble we would have the perfect midfielder. As it is however, including Kouyate also, we have 3 midfielders who can all do half a job.

It will be amusing seeing the Club's first choice manager arriving in town managing a Club actually below us in the **** for brains stakes.
If I was Ashley, I'd turn up with a copy Kazza's weekly diatribe blaming him for non-investment, vomit in her fireplace and offer her a zero hours contract.
It's said not be a circus at West Ham anymore, but on Saturday the mascot is a poodle on a monocycle.

Pretty much what I'd go for.... although it would be unfortunate on Collins who was exceptional against Stoke.Vienna wrote:Adrian

The last Saturday before Christmas and a home match for us... who wants to guess when the festive Crossrail works start closing the whole train line?
(Spoiler: No TfL rail or Greater Anglia trains for this one. See you on the Rail Replacement Bus Service!)

A sequence of completed passes? A few shots on target? After witnessing last night, that will be enough to get my pulses racing.

Looking forward to Newcastle take over announcement this Friday and all their players and staff getting a bounce

Last night felt like a friendly. Let’s hope the lacklustre team and poor individual performances are out of the system for the weekend.

Does anyone know if the planned "protest" by the real west ham supporters group is still going ahead at the Newcastle game. Last I heard they were going to release black balloons. Im not planning to protest myself, just keen to know if others will be.

I'd move Arnautovic back into Lanzini's position, with Hernandez in his.fmgod wrote:Same team as last two league games with Ayew in for Lanzini
But, with Mark, Kou, Lanzini and Fernandes all on the missing list, this game looks like a 0-0.

I think if we keep another clean sheet, and we should, we will win this game. There's at least one goal in that team somewhere. I keep saying the same thing, but staying tight at the back will lead to us climbing out of this mess with the talent we have further up the pitch.

An utter **** house of a game that should have been thrown in favour of progressing last night.
In light of how we decided to approach the Quarter Final - we must win this game, no excuses.

I was looking forward to the game, but after last nights pitiful effort for the sake of this game, I don't think I give much of a **** if this is what it's come too.
Good luck to all those that are excited about it though. I just feel like I'm just going through the motions.

Can I wear a full West Ham kit Saturday, socks, shin pads, boots, the lot and run through Westfield shouting West Ham songs on their busiest day of the year?
