Little things in life that make you smile

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

I got a bluetooth receiver that outputs to one of the the stereo LR inputs on my Receiver for £10 off amazon. Powers off the Receiver USB port, and I can pair my laptops, tablets, phones and Echo Dot to it for easy streaming.

I bought the Yamaha RN303D https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/ampl ... d-blk.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which doesn't have a USB input.

As Dan says, there are cheap options for playing MP3s from USB but I wanted something that would work with turntable, CD player and streaming as well as have DAB radio so this one seemed ideal for me.

Not quite what I meant here. I meant that for anyone with an existing Receiver or Amp that doesn't have bluetooth capability, you can buy an inexpensive bluetooth receiver and just plug it into one of the regular inputs (Stereo LR, HDMI etc) ports on your amp, assuming you have at least one free.

EDIT - an Echo Dot or Google Home appliance, connected to the bluetooth receiver, can then handle all your streaming requirements (radio, music streaming services, stream from a share etc).

Thanks HH, I have looked at that one but it's too wide to fit in my cabinet. It does tick all the boxes though.

Repairing the toaster, although at £17 for a new timer, I suspect there's an argument that I should have just binned it.

The best friend of my 6 year old laughs exactly like Barbara Windsor in the Carry On films. Very funny every time I hear it.

Also looking forward to my 11 year old's outraged rant over dinner tonight. She hates running or walking anywhere, it was her first ever school X country run today. Can't wait for the report about the injustice of it all, we have been winding her up for days!

On my way to Larkhill this morning
was at a set of lights , the instant the lights went green the tool behind me is giving it the flashing and the beeping
I release the handbrake and poodle off in the own time,
In the mirror I notice that the impatient prick behind stalls his motor , only then to be rear ended by the one behind

****ing result. I like to make a point of taking my time whenever some pushy asshat decides to tailgate me.

Hopkins' request for an appeal was heard today, and dismissed.
Not quite half a mil, but she now owes Monroe the original £24,000 plus £107,000 in costs.
