Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Which allows me to bring up that I had my photo taken with Ian Rankin in a pub on Rose Street a while back, proving that he doesn’t just drink in the Oxford Bar. Very friendly chap, but that could have been because he was in the pub when I got there and was rolling out at closing time. Apparently you can leave a book for him to sign behind the bar in the Ox when he nexts comes in.
Wish I'd thought of that with old Ken - Dan must have kept him talking for a good half hour , I could have nipped home and got my camera and taken his photo , he comes to our village quite often [ parks his yacht in the bay ] , I'll get him next time . When we saw him he'd rented out Ian and Katie's old house which is up our road .
Amir Mohammed ibn Salman, the Crown Prince (currently) of Saudi Arabia. Well, not 'bumped into' exactly, would have been shot for that, but they closed all the surrounding roads between Abha and the Muhayil area, which generally means everyone else f*** off . Was told it was him anyway. Late getting home from work as a result. C.u.n.t.
Steve Arnold (who ?) Squeaky voiced Ashley the butcher from Coronation St , Fred I said Fred , Elliot son killed in the tram crash , he was in McDonalds Exmouth , looking a bit rough , his missus though looked a bit smarter !
I didn't speak to them but was in the vicinity of Helen Chamberlain and Mark Chapman at the BDO World Darts last night. They weren't there together, I should add. Chamberlain looked like anyone you'd see on a second marriage hen night - seemed pleasant enough and posed for a lot selfies and, maybe being snide, think she quite enjoyed the attention. Chapman is very tall and seemed like a very polite and friendly bloke.

Top bloke is Steve, I was on tour with him and 3 other ex Coronation actors in Canada in 2012. He's very down to earth, likes a drink, big boxing fan and very good mates with Ricky Hatton.
