Like M'bemba, why the f**k would we want Ndong? He's just got himself a nice three match ban now anyway.

Arfield, Arter, M'bemba, Ndong, surely we should be aiming higher than that?

I mentioned Milivojevic last year as a good defensive midfielder. I saw him play many times for Olympiakos as well as Masuaku. I believe Palace signed him for 16 mil last January. He's done well for them and will be at the WC with Serbia. Olympiakos just released 4 players in December. The GK Kapino who I rate and Sasa Zdjelar, a Serbian Defensive MF. He was a starter on the Serbian team that won the U20 WC. His chances were limited as he played in the same position as Milivojevic. This year it looked like he would get his chance. Oly, as they normally do, signed 8-10 new players in the summer (half of them are already gone). They sign a lot of players and the younger ones get frozen out, moved on. Again, Zdjelar was down the pecking order but did play in some CL games against Barca, Juve and Sporting. Here's a clip-

He can pass and is good at breaking up play. I think he'll come good. It looks like he's going to Partizan on a free.

Arfield is a left sided midfielder. Thought we were overloaded with left midfielders?

UTJ .... thanks for the update from Jinxed mate ... and of course thanks Jinxed , as always:)

But Boss... have you got any idea what was meant regarding Sakho deal falling through because of ‘remuneration ‘...?

Does that refer to Sakho or his agent not agreeing with them or is it our club that couldn’t agree the way the fee was structured etc ?

On another point does anyone know if the reports today suggesting that Oxford could be sent out on loan again have any legs to it...?

Cheers

Today can’t even field a full subs bench even with 3 U23s to make up the numbers and with no senior midfielders or defenders available other than those in the starting XI, and with half of them under par. That really has to force the owners hands.

Cant or stupidly chose not to pick a 7th sub?

It must be a kick in the teeth for the youth that he won't even put them on the bench

most of the contenders for the last spot played last night for the U-23 though. Makes more sense to have them play a full match than sit on the bench knowing there is no chance of playing.

Most of them were getting game time last night against a strong leicester team

Given a few might be on the bench against shrewsbury its probably better for them to be playing?

It depends on how many travelled. You can't just teleport a youth player two hundred miles. Not yet anyway.

Fantastic result, tempered by the fact the stunted ruskies probably buried his cheque book for another season.

It's a positive that Snodgrass is playing well.

He comes back under Moyes with a fresh slate and a countryman at the helm or we make the money we did from the purchase back on him.

Im sure the transfer War Chest will remain tightly closed awaiting the arrival of Benitez in the summer.

Sod that. Give Moyes a new contract and get some stability in the club. I’d far rather Moyes than Benitez that’s for sure. Benitez has done nothing for me. If we hadn’t gifted them 6 points this season they’d be joint bottom with Swansea.

Catch 22.....the higher we climb the table in January the more likely Sully locks the cheque book away.....,,,if we falter again, oh well, Championship next year......Sully locks the cheque book away, all add up to nothing happening this window.
