That's a good comparison isn't it?RichieRiv wrote:Frank Mcavennie, St Mirren.
Macca was an attacking midfielder, bought to play behind TC and The sarge. He ended upfront and the rest was (joyful) history.
Moyes has put his faith in Arnie and it is paying dividends. I've been proved completely wrong, I thought we;d bought a deadbeat.

To be fair if they carry on with that type of performance as a pairing I don’t care if they’ve shagged eachothers missus. Just an observation.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
That’s a really good call. Like that signing 32 years ago he has a touch of magic and arrogance about him. Like Macca he brings life to his team.The_Dead_Ball wrote:Reminds me of the time we bought a midfielder then he was put it front. The rest s history....

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
It would be great if we were safe with 5 to go so we could play two proper forwards up front to see Arnie and one other run back 4s ragged though the one plus one has merits.

Didn’t sound in jest? Did you not see his facial reactions? The smile.. clearly mucking aboutAbsolutely Hammered! wrote:Love the bloke.
Sadly... I think arnie and lanzini might not get on too well. Post match comments... “manu needs to be quiet now because he says I don’t pass to him to score goals”. Didn’t sound in jest either. Also neither celebrated eachothers goals. Hope I’ve made 5 out of 2 n 2.
2 team mates just having healthy rivalry

It was obviously banter and shows healthy relationships in the squad and good team spirit in my opinion. Long may it continueAbsolutely Hammered! wrote:Love the bloke.

Watch them at the end of the game on MotD, doesn't seem to be an issue, healthy banter more like.

Been our best player by a mile today. Think Lanzini was feeding off his scraps tbh. Everything that was good revolves around him. Just hope nobody comes sniffing this window.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
We’ve only just bought him for £24 million, would take a massive massive bid in the £60 million region to prise him away.bubbles500 wrote:Been our best player by a mile today. More likely scenario is probably his agent asking for a payrise in the short term I suspect.thejackhammer wrote: We’ve only just bought him for £24 million, would take a massive massive bid in the £60 million region to prise him away.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
£60m fee! New contract! Come on boys he has had a good few months. Balance it across the season so far and he comes out as “good”. Let’s see how the rest of the season turns out. If we build him up too much then a couple of bad games and certain people on here will be offering him a lift back to Stoke again.
Enjoy it and hope it isn’t a purple patch.
