It goes to show far we'd fallen that we're judging Nobles importance on a performance at a newly promoted team.

I think that is a bit disingenuous Adam. I have been one of his main critics this year, but credit where it is due. I think Moyes has made a difference and Noble has responded positively. And I am more than happy that he has.Adam 'The Smudge' wrote:It goes to show far we'd fallen that we're judging Nobles importance on a performance at a newly promoted team.

With 10 behind the ball or against teams outside the top 6 he looks ok.Diogenes wrote:I think that is a bit disingenuous Adam. Against teams with honours to aim for he looks isolated and off the pace and unable to hurt them.
Simply put we don't have the player needed at the club for the role that would be our lynch-pin.
Then again we lack in several spots.

He took his goal really well. He's always been good when he gets into that kind of position. He's been massively underused in it for the majority of his career here.

Blimey, we really need players to compete with those battling for honours.
Meanwhile, Noble does for me.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Today was another very good performance from him. He was always able to lay the ball off to one of our players even in tight spots and under pressure. He has an eye for a pass and he took his chance superbly. You can see that Arnie has confidence in him and Lanzini to come away with the ball.
How he plays against top 6 teams will be dependent on the form he is in and how the team is setup. I definitely won't write him off.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
He makes us tick...simple as that
With Obiang / Kouyate doing the legwork it allows him the freedom to do what he does best
His legs are still there...he just needs energy next to him
Reminds me of Parker for us right now...we need an alternative to him in tge squad, nobody does his role well enough

Another player whose formand fitness is unrecognisable from a few months back.
Moyes is using him far more intelligently in his game plan and he’s raised his game by another 10%. Keep it going Mr West Ham.

Noble does, and always has, played well with intelligent players ahead of him. Surround him with dross and lack of skill and movement and he struggles.

Fast joining a list of possible HOTY candidates. Well played Nobes.
Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Noble under Slav had become a self fulfilling prophesy. Oh he's too old, his legs have gone, he needs to sit back. Not now, he's back playing where he always used to and looks like the player of five years ago.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Anyone else find it appalling that Noble is the 4th highest scorer for West Ham in the PL? Well done to him and all but that really is an awful stat for us since the league was formed.

Not really. I think people underestimate the level of turnover in squads in the time the PL has been runninghammers92 wrote:Anyone else find it appalling that Noble is the 4th highest scorer for West Ham in the PL? Check the stats for Newcastle, they've had a pretty similar record to us (with much higher highs) in the PL and apart from one freak, nobody stands out - https://www.11v11.com/teams/newcastle-u ... n/scorers/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Noble's position on our list says more about his longevity than anything else.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Keeps his form up and might be in for a chance for a England call up.
After all, England lack central midfielders who can pass the ball.
Hater Hogdson is no longer in charge so he might get a well deserved England cap.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
You know what I like about almost all of Nobles goals, it's that he passes them into the net. All specifically placed with purpose and never thrashed. Always in control of the ball. It's a real sign of a cultured footballer. He rarely flaps under pressure too in and around the box.
My only wish was that some of his managers didnt hold him back so much positionally as a defensive midfielder because he clearly has a lot to give further up the field goal scoring or assisting.
