FAC3R: West Ham Utd 1-0 Shrewsbury Town (16/01/18)
------------------Hart
-----------Burke - Collins - Rice
Byram - Noble - Obiang - Cresswell
-----------------Cullen
--------Ayew------------Hernandez
Some big names need a performance here, to justify inclusion in the league team.
Some others deserve the rest.

Reason: Another match thread not naming both clubs full club names

Prophet: good call - I like the way you have stuck Cullen behind the front two.On sunday he looked like the kind of player that would relish the responsibility of play-maker. However, Arnie aside, not sure if anyone else deserves a day off (maybe Noble). Hernandez on the other hand maybe a liability (and we are talking the Shrews here).

If we want to beat this lot and we want to make it into the next round then we have to deal with their agricultural style. No room for weaklings.
It's a cup tie, not a PL match where referees dish out yellow cards for fun and give fouls for every little thing.

Definitely. We can use them in the second half if we’re having difficulties.mumbles87 wrote:
However we need to keep lanzini and arnie on the bench just incase
The team suggested is decent enough, although I imagine Noble will be rested. We really need a new central midfielder...

Promoting this quite heavily on TalkSport all week with what feels like an advert every 15 mins.

Something like that, PM.
I'm thinking that players rested from Huddersfield and the U23s will be the chosen few.
We must not surcome to their cloggy style of play. Above all we need to maintain possesion and make them chase shadows.
Moyes and Physco will have done their homework on this lot.
2 0 to WHU.

Seems like many STHs didn’t bother with this game... I took the opportunity to pick up a few seats behind us for my brother in law to come along with his 2 boys - not bad for £12 for the three of them!
Do wonder what that will do for the atmosphere though! (Lots of non regulars... not my brother in law specifically...)

No, they went with Chelsea -v- Norwich instead.Jameslegend wrote:Is the replay not on tv?
I'm in two minds, about that, because we can't really claim that we deserved our replay to be televised, given the dross served up in the first game, but I can see the one they chose being a bit one-sided, even with Chelsea's recent hesitancy in front of goal.
How many neutrals are likely to tune in to it?
As for the thread title, I was surprised to see that it was Shrewsbury Town. I did in fact check and the paper lists them as simply Shrewsbury, in the league table it printed.

Re: West Ham United -v- Shrewsbury Town: Replay Match Thread
Hi everyone can anyone tell me a good place to park as my son is going to drive up from Portsmouth for this one but won't be leaving till 4 as they have a lecture ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: West Ham United -v- Shrewsbury Town: Replay Match Thread
Playing Ayew and Hernandez together (as in the original match) doesn't really work as they are too similar in style. One of them has to play off either Arnie or Carroll so they can score the tap-ins (which is their thing).

Get Josh to play with out his false teeth and clatter Ogogo in the first seconds. And then give him a manic gummy grin.
He will then own the midfield.
He will then own the midfield.

I would play one of Lanzini or Arnie along with Hernandez for this one, rest the other for Bournemouth
