Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Thank you , Hammerdivone , I think I get what you're saying , is it then possible to quote 2 or 3 seperate quotes , not a quote that's been added to someone else's as in the example you've given , if you get what I mean , say for instance I wanted to quote what you had said along with a seperate quote of say Mushy's and Johnny Byrne's Boots , 3 seperate quotes , is that possible ? If so , how would I go about doing that ?
Thank you for your patience .
Yes.

I'm not sure if any of you guys have seen this where you live, but some people round here seem to have cut the front end (near the grill/bumper) of the car bonnet and have replaced it with some kind of flap. The flap looks to be made of plastic or rubber.

I see many people using this method of quoting but wouldn't have a clue how to do it myself .

Why is this? What is the purpose?
Sorry I have no idea about cars.
That works too! Bit of a pain if using your phone though.

Could be a car bra, to protect the front end from road chips...
or, if you live somewhere really cold, it could be a way of blocking the very cold air from reaching the radiator and ensuring it does not freeze and that the engine runs at the right temperature. The 2cv had this as it is an air cooled car and would run too cold in sub-zero temperatures.
I used to have one on my old VN2000 and made the mistake of telling a non-biking mate what it was called. The abuse was merciless and carries on to this day.
It's designed to allow the fat to run off into the little tray, rather than say in a frying pan where the burger will soak it back up. There will be some calories in the fat that you aren't consuming.

Or is there no claim at all?
Probably only if the object itself fell off the car rather than being kicked up. The piece of metal that fell off a Continental DC-10 was deemed responsible for the Concorde crash: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... crash.html

I'm now being followed by Harold Lefty Williams, a Harlem Globetrotter (apparently).
Why would he do that?
Yes, same has happened to me, I am hardly followed by anyone apart from the occasional US sports star.
I assume there is a some automatic program that runs that makes them a follower of you, the idea being I assume that you follow them back as a matter of courtesy which increases their followers to such an extent that they make money from advertising etc...
I cannot fathom any other reason.
Why 18/19 year olds (daughter and niece included)want to sit in cars til 2am EVERY night, even in shitty, cold, stormy nights!?
I do remember heading out in cars at that age on Sunday evenings for few hours, but every bloody night....
