Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
Any idea if a few are back for this one?! I can't take another game starting 9 defensive players
Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
Arnautovic is supposed to be back for this one.
Lord knows we need him.
Lord knows we need him.

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
guaranteed he will score but wont celebrate hopefully.
the last 3 games were our cushion against being dragged bag down. even if we beat Watford a return of 5 pts from our last four easy games is not good enough.
west brom and stoke I think will go down
the 3rd place is anyones ! we have a chance of going down. anyone who thinks not is mad.

Atmosphere will be toxic, Lord knows what it will be like when watford score first.

I would prefer Kouyate at CB and Rice alongside Noble.mumbles87 wrote:——————Adrian

Have to have Iron Mike in there or Arnie if fit.
Zabelletas pace is a bit worrying so he will need cover.
On paper or tablet screen, that doesn't look too bad. All down to fitness and willpower now.

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
I actually fancy us to rectify last season's season turner. Two up to lose by two devastated our season.
Just heave fatboy Deeney into the air twice in the first 5 mins.
I know we're bare bones but....
Us 2 them 0.

If the players could be tasked to do the job instructed to them rather than what they want to do I would go for the followingartlin wrote:

Antonio---Rice--Noble--Cresswell

one massive problem with this is antonio... he has everything about him to play RWB very well.. could cause as much trouble as arthur did the other side (until he was an idiot)
if only eh

We’ve been saying it for months, but just doesn’t happen at home games. To be honest I wish it would. But the who place is sterile.MorthwylMawr wrote:Atmosphere will be toxic, Lord knows what it will be like when watford score first.
All I can see us getting from this game is a draw at best.

Yep, 1-1, count on it. And coming from behind yet again! Count on it.

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
And the board know that even if we lose 9-0 the atmosphere would not be toxic.
It might be argued that many ‘fans’ have had their apathy rewarded.
Evil prospers when good men do nothing.
An odd game is the Watford game
On the one hand West Ham - now officially the new MK Dons - club robbed by greedy entrepreneurs.
Then there is Watford. A modern day kind of pop up shop. Constant loaning of players and a new manager every other week.
A desperate 1-1 draw about as inspiring as a boxing match between two corpses.
It could be argued that neither club actually exists anymore.

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
Some of next weekend’s fixtures are:
Stoke vs Brighton
Swansea vs Burnley
Huddersfield vs Bournemouth
Massive games for all 6 teams above but we simply cannot carry on drawing games. We have to start winning.

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread
I don't see that we've got all that much choice in terms of the first eleven we put out.
Does Hart deserve another spell between the sticks? Not for me.
Should Reid come in for Ginge, because of the way the game panned out yesterday? Or Should Rice make way, if Ogbonna is the keystone central defender? Again, I am unconvinced by Reid; he's not really much of an improvement.
Do Byram and Zabaleta continue in their (new) roles? Again, what other choices do we have? Same with Cresswell on the left.
I had a think about the creative side of the team, yesterday, when reading Leon's assists thread. We have about 8 players who have 'assisted' 2 or more goals. Both of the most two effective are injured, or, at best, returning (too early?) from injuries. Another two were sold in the last window.
We could win this, but, by the same token, we probably won't do because we'd taken the game by the scruff of the neck and seen off our opponents. We just don't have the available personnel to approach the game in that way.
So, I hope for something positive, after the FA Cup whimper and the ensuing double down defeat against a promoted side, but, sadly expect, at best, another 1-1 draw.
There's a lot being saved up for Lanzini and Arnautovic's shoulders, come early March, isn't there?
