Re: Little things in life that make you smile
The way some women dress like what a clown would wear. And then they catch me staring and ask me what is wrong with me. So I say why don't you dress in normal clothes. They reply what's normal, this is normal to me.
I say normal to you? yeah if you are going for an interview to be a court jester

At Dover? Good result, that.Eggs'n'nuts wrote:My thoughts exactly Dan. Plus my local side Sutton United knicking a 1-0 win away.
Bottoms up, everyone. I'm on the red now, having got up at 7am to do some work, before getting to the supermarket nice and early so I could make one of my world-beating lasagnes.

Any Kingfishers lately, Tenb?Tenbury wrote: Mid-late Feb, simply the best time of year for birding, they're all pairing up,so distracted and you can get nearer, and best of all the trees are leafless so you see all sorts you'd usually miss.I do the same dogwalk at daybreak ,about 2 and a half miles, every morning through the park, and along the Teme.
Yesterday's haul:
Blue,great and coal tits.
A whole flock of long-tailed tits.
Couple of nuthatches
A dipper
A pair of goosanders.
Not bad!
Couple of old tits sighted in the OS today!

Your lasagne sounds like one for the 'recipes' thread...DasNutNock wrote: Bottoms up, everyone. I'm on the red now, having got up at 7am to do some work, before getting to the supermarket nice and early so I could make one of my world-beating lasagnes.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
May have mentioned I saw a pair together about a month ago. This last month the river has been up minimum 3to4 feet, sometimes far higher, and full of colour( makes it hard to fish by sight) so I figure they've moved upstream a bit where the Teme is slower and wider in certain stretches.Still hope they'll move back down to nest. I really love this time of year.Samba wrote:

Lasagne? Isn't that just a meat based Vienetta?DasNutNock wrote: ... so I could make one of my world-beating lasagnes.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
I had exactly the opposite problem when I was pulled by the police in Spain as a backpacking student. They asked me to poo in a bowl to reveal the hidden drugs (I didn't have any). I'd been on a long haul train in North Africa and the loos were minging so I hadn't breached for a couple of days. And I'd been eating weird stuff.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:Twenty two days and counting...
There was copious splattering and I was the only one who saw the funny side.

There is a place near me where a new housing estate has gone up, which has affected the migrating patterns of local toads. Last year, there was toadicide as the poor critters got squashed crossing a road - this year, the local conservation volunteers have set up a toad patrol.hammerdivone wrote:Frogs hop, toads crawl (although do the occasional short hop)
Frogs come out of hibernation, depending on weather, from Feb onwards

Where we live we have one of the few remaining habitats of the Natterjack Toad.pablo jaye wrote:There is a place near me where a new housing estate has gone up, which has affected the migrating patterns of local toads. The Reptile and Amphibian Trust in consultation with the Forestry Commission decided it would be a good idea to pull down half a forest to join up two wetland areas to increase the habitat.
They seemed not to have considered the fact that the A325 runs between the two sites
