Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
Another vote for leave, but have a replica at the LS... I could almost understand moving it to Stratford in terms of the board further tarnishing the legacy and trying to coopt past glories for their own gain, but the fact that they haven't even managed to do that shows just what an almighty shambles the whole thing is..
Mind you, it must take a while to produce a Swarovski crystal replica, so we probably shouldn't judge them too soon!

Shame the same didn’t happen with everything else.

Another one for the leave it where it is camp. It would be great to see a replica at the LS, but such is the ego of our owners it wouldn't surprise me if that replica comprised of Sullivan sitting on Gold and Brady's shoulders holding a dildo aloft!

Is the right answer!
Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
100% leave it there. It should become a place of pilgrimage for the faithful. Wreaths left there on Bobby's birthday or 24th Feb. A complete reminder of the great football club that was previously up the road.
Let it be a small source of comfort for the small band of remaining Hammers supporting inhabitants of the district.
Build a nice replica atop a huge monument in the Olympic park.

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
Definitely leave it where it belongs. I wouldn't build a replica either as it would devalue the purpose of leaving it there. If you want to see the statue, you go to Upton Park. If we're going to have a statue, which I'd be completely in favour of, make it of something else, for example a scene from the Cup Winners' Cup victory.

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
As we're clearly never going back, it should come over to Stratford. Put it on the walkway from Westfield to the stadium, and give us something to smile about on the dreary walk.
Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
I suppose there is one thing that we should consider. It belongs to the Borough of Newham doesn't it? Or did the club pay for it (I can't bloody believe that!)??

Make a new one at Stratford but with our new world class heroes from our new home. Payet, Zaza, Ayew, Mario. I bet these days they could even do one with changeable heads for when a player’s loan period finishes.

There's an easy solution of course. The dildo brothers could capitalise a small percentage of the hundreds of millions in equity they hold and have a replica made.
This is yet something else they haven't paid for that they want to have.

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
Leave it where it is and build a new one at the OS.
Clearly the new one should be Gold and Brady raising Sully aloft and instead of the Jules Rimet he's holding a wad of £50s

Nice one James P as long as one of the heads doesn't have an absurd ponytail!!! Seriously it should never be moved as it has no connection whatsoever with where we are lodging now! End of story.

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
I would NOT trust Sullivan to commission a new statue, without having himself added to it!

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
i have been in the take it with camp but no longer sure if that is the right call anymore
i suppose the best solution is to leave it there and have an identical one made for stratford, perhaps the dildo bros can pay for it to make up for transfer window, dont suppose there are any statues available on a free transfer or a loan ?

Re: [POLL] The Champions statue
Voted for it to come with us, as I want the new place to be as West Ham as it possibly can be, however I can see the romance in it staying at Upton Park.
In a perfect world, the Champions statue stays put, and we'd have two new statues at the OS; one of Bobby outside his stand holding the ECWC in 1965, and one of Trevor outside his celebrating his winner in the 1980 cup final, similar to what Arsenal have done with one on each corner, now that would look excellent; suggested this a few weeks ago on the Olympic Stadium thread but it got lost in the thousands of posts.
If a popular idea could be something us fans could push for, not that those three would ever pay for such things they'd see no profit back on.

The club moved under the premise of "History begins ....."fmgod wrote:Leave it where it is but we need things like this at the OS
On that basis they should invest in some players and deliver some trophies .
Not a single West Ham United supporter under the age of 40 will remember us winning a proper trophy .
I voted to leave the WCW statue where it is by the way.
