I suspect Brady may have already enquired.

Mega Ron wrote:The roof doesn't have to cover all the seats.
When we (well they) initially bid for it the roof was not going to cover the front seats.
In the agreement:
Full roof coverage to all Stadium seats in retracted or extended position.
(a) Coverage is defined as being within the Stadium roof-edge 'drip-line'
Obviously the hypothetical talk of tearing down the stands and starting again would indicate the agreement had long been ripped up though.

Yes it is in the current agreement but when we wanted to be 'given' the stadium the club wasn't going to pay for a full roof.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Was it my imagination, or last Saturday did I see that more beer shelves had been installed in the lower concourse areas? Minor detail of course......

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Wonderful idea! Fill in the entire concourse with seats. These seats will closer to the pitch and with a better view, than the seats way back up in the gods. Effectively almost joining both upper and lower tier.Up the Junction wrote:Been thinking about possible solutions to our 'distance from pitch' conundrum.
Excuse the crude diagram, but it illustrates my idea well enough. Thoughts?
Remove the top few rows of seats up in the gods, and build a concourse there with access for the upper tier.
Then somehow make a 'lower concourse" or method for lower tier people to access their seats from the bottom/ pitch side area?
Doesnt bring the pitch any closer but would remove the 5k or so seats with the worst views in the whole stadium and replace them with better view seats.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
In the East Stand there is an extra block of seats filling the gap between the upper and lower tiers. If they extended that all the way around it would add a significant amount of seats reasonably near the pitch.

Those photos of the Luzhniki stadium look amazing. We'd have something to be proud of if they could do that to the DildoDome.
They fade and die....
And like my dreams,Just over £300million was spent on renovating the stadium

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
For me, it is less about the distance from the pitch (as my seat in East Upper isn't that far, or doesn't seem to be anyway), but the shallowness of the gradient (I appreciate they are linked of course). This means it is more like a cricket arena than a proper football stadium
I can't see how that can be changed without knocking it all down

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Going through this thread to see how they did the Luzhniki one. This comment is interesting...
EDIT: Seems they actually just ripped most of it down and kept a large amount of the old facade/roof structure. Pretty much built a new stadium inside that. Back to the drawing board folks!
Negates the fact that it's apparently impossible to dig down at Stratford.moreover, setting up a running track will be possible. It was said that it could be installed on the base which would be lifted up and located somewhere near 15th-20th row so it will reduce the capacity for athletics but won't ruin the purely football arena. It will be done the same way as in Madrid (I don't remember the name of the stadium, I guess it's U/C either)

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Just why is it impossible to dig down at Stratford?
Nothing is impossible.
If the stadium was built there, then surely the ground is workable, or can be made workable.

I thought that there were more shelves up - but negated in that they put the pop-up bars in front of many of them!JCA wrote:Was it my imagination, or last Saturday did I see that more beer shelves had been installed in the lower concourse areas? Minor detail of course......

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I thought there had been new shelves put up inside entrance C which I hadn't seen before. Completely unusable and empty as they were covered in rainwater as there is no roof over that section of the concourse.JCA wrote:Was it my imagination, or last Saturday did I see that more beer shelves had been installed in the lower concourse areas? For the record, these shelves were requested in a meeting with Karren Brady in January 2017.NorthernIron wrote:I thought there had been new shelves put up inside entrance C
It's good to see that since the RWHFAG's march was announced, they have been installed.

Sadly, I'm led to believe by people that have visited the site, that Tottenham's new ground will set the benchmark going forward .
I expect our current owners will have exited by the time we get to see it .
Two bob.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
You really think they're off in the next 12 months?
I hope you're right but I can see them clinging on in some way or another until the next reduction in the %
they have to pay out from the sale. Plus that's probably another 2 TV deals away, a ticket to the Premier League Owner's Club will be worth even more than it is now.
