Re: Little things that irritate you
We're buying a house and we're fourth in the chain. To get the place we wanted, we were told that we'd need to exchange by 7th February. We busted a gut to find a buyer and get the mortgage etc sorted so we could exchange on time. We were then told that the person at the top of the chain needed three weeks from exchange to completion as she needed time to clear her house, so we couldn't move until 28th February. It's now 15th February and because the others in the chain haven't been able to get their acts together (missing paperwork and so on), we still haven't ****ing exchanged. We actually took a lower offer on our current house to help make sure we were ready for 7th Feb. The house buying system in this country is absolutely b*llocks and the people low on the chain are treated like serfs and afterthoughts.

Took the car in for an MOT/Service
Passed OK but they said the clutch was slipping and quoted £650 to replace it

Six people in my office. All degree educated. Not one of them has realised that if you leave banana skins, apple cores and half-empty Costa coffee cups in the waste basket over the weekend, they go niffy. I AM NOT YOUR ****ING MUM.

Inconsiderate c*nts standing in stupid places, often having a conversation.
Doorways, supermarket aisles, walkways in pubs.
The c*nts never move unless asked either.
How can people be so self-unaware?

Same as mobile-zombies, staring at their screens completely unaware of the havoc they are causing around them.Smonnie wrote:Inconsiderate c*nts standing in stupid places, often having a conversation.

People that want to work in with me when in the gym. I usually do tri-sets, headphones in. I like my space, and timing is key for me. I understand why they do it but it's not my problem.
I'm an a-hole apparently

Main dealer rates will be anything from £100 per hour upwards. An Toyota specialist will be from around £60 upwards.
I would shop around and certainly not use a main dealer as it is over three years old.
I would also get a second opinion first before doing anything.

One way to check if it is slipping, start it up and bung it in top gear holding the clutch down, put your foot hard on the foot brake then lift your foot off the clutch, if it stalls straight away it ain't slipping........

Probably scratching for work mate. My advice is to never get a motor MOT'd anywhere they do repairs.Hammers Dad wrote:Took the car in for an MOT/Service

Absolutely agree. First rule of motoring on a budget ALWAYS get your MOT at a council depot or similar, where they don't actually mend motors.

We used to use an independent garage for exactly that reason. They didn't repair nor did they recommend places.

Earthquakes!
Just sat here at work minding my own business when the building started to shake!
A whopping 4.2 just outside Swansea, that is about 80 miles from here!
