Little things in life that make you smile

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Geoff the cat had a nasty lump cut out if his forehead by the vet this afternoon, and the vet inserted a drain which is basically pissing blood down his face pretty much constantly. He looks like the moggy of Beelzebub.

But he's also wearing one of those no-licking cones round his neck, so it's funny.

between all the West Ham shirts hanging on my office wall, I have a Basingstoke town shirt from the centenary year in 1996.
It’s not in great nick but you are welcome to it if you want it.

One of the few fringe benefits for a bird-spotter like me from the big freeze...seeing so many different species of birds that I wouldn't normally see as they try and work out what's going on with the weather; seen some amazing ones down Poole Park and the nature reserves around the harbour... even had some fieldfares and redwings in my garden looking for food cos they can't get through the snow and ice in the farmland a couple of miles away. I put some extra grub out for the birds on my feeders and was rewarded with a flock of fieldfares a couple of days ago; effed off before I could get a pic, sadly. One of life's simple little joys though, feeding wild birds.

Gotta big kick out of seeing Dippy The Diplodocus last week in Dorchester; basically that big dinosaur you see when you enter the Natural History Museum is touring the country, and his 1st stop is, fittingly, the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. Took me back about 35 years seeing the old boy again, faintly surreal too!

Seeing the sales office administrator bending over with the tightest black trousers on and seeing what she had for breakfast. Always been an arse man, and her arse is pretty damn fine. I would give her the best 2 1/2 minutes she has ever had.

Is that two half minutes Clacton?

Thirty seconds to roll one on and thirty seconds to do the deed. :)

Yup that's me! No idea about cars. number plates or anything relating to them in the main. Metal boxes to get you from A to B, in good time, dry and with your luggage. When they break down you pay someone to fix them.

That's about it.

Because the packets are too small,we've always devised interesting cocktails of two or more boxes mixed together. Not all of them are very nice.

Designer dogs are designed to separate a fool and his money. A woman at work was looking at a white pug yesterday, which means there is a wrong 'in in the blood line somewhere. £900 for something that doesn't meet the breed standard and can't be Kennel Club registered is mental.

Shih poo, Cocker poo, Jackapoo.......... In my day we called them mongrels or bitsas (bits a this, bits a that).

I know I'm looking at it in black and white, but it does make me smile that all you're buying is an expensive mongrel. Get yourselves down to a dogs home or local rescue centre and get a real "bitsa" for a fraction of the price.
