Why the hell would we appoint a manager who might relegate two teams in one season?

Because he's cheap?

Well, he’s probably the only recent Man City manager we’d make a serious attempt for

Please god, no.
People are still unhappy with Moyes. Hughes would be even less popular. Arnie would be off.
Feel a bit sorry for Soton. Hope they win the FA Cup.

Does any one know why did all the bars near 112/113/114 suddenly close half way through half time

Great effort and work rate, all three goals started with us winning the ball through pressure and desire to gain possession.

Notable performances:

Mario - best performance so far by miles, superb cross for the second, brilliant strike for his goal, perhaps better centrally with Lanzini absent?
Rice - cruised through the game like a young Rio, tracked runners, composed in possession
Kouyate - work rate and effort in first half major factor
Fernandes - looked really confident, important he played that well considered he came on so early
Ogbonna - great in the air, seemed to be in the right place when required, back to his classy best
Arthur - been sorely missed, constant danger going forward, what a cross to Arnie
Arnie - great finish for the third, seems unplayable at times, don’t remember him being this good at Stoke!
Noble - proper captains performance

I thought Noble set the tone right from kick off getting stuck in and showing he was up for it.

Does anyone know what was going on with Hart with that back pass in the first half? From the far end it looked really close to the goal line when it was totally unnecessary and just needed to be cleared.

I sit right behind that in the upper tier. He looked comfortable enough, more a crowd panic, but why he waited so long and hit a pass out to the wing who knows?!

He probably thinks about it too much, rather than sometimes just clear it.

Completely agree. I thought he was really good. He pressed well, kept getting his foot in and used the ball intelligently. That was none more evident than his role in the third goal which was a good nick, a very composed turn out of trouble and a quick ball into Kouyate.

We were just on it yesterday. Hunting in packs, on the front foot, aggressive but also very quick and impressive in possession. Southampton had some accomplished players in midfield and the full back areas but they did not know what had hit them.

I wondered watching the game what a stroke of luck it may have been losing Antonio so early. Despite his long absence for injury, Edi gave us something we have been missing in midfield (i.e. discipline). Kouyate was released to rampage and the effect was immediate a few minutes later for the first goal.

Because he sacrificed himself for the good of the team by allowing Fern on.

Cheers. Basically summed up what I was going to say. One swallow doesn't make a summer but after the last few games we looked all but dead and buried and I couldn't see where the next points were coming from. A poor Saints team but we really gave it a go constantly pressing them enforcing mistakes.
Hope we can hang on to Arnie as he is looking superb at the moment.
Big shout as well to young Declan Rice who is looking better and better. Composure well beyond his years.
Let's give Chelski a beating in their own backyard and get this survival lark sorted out ASAP.

He also followed in on attacks really well. I liked his celebration for our second.

Whatever it was, he deserved a well earnt drink. He drank so much during the first half, he needed to call his waiter at one point from Miami to get him some more. Thirsty work being a Keeper with nothing to do.

There were more than a few ironic cheers for Hart when he made relatively routine catches in the second half.
