Couldn’t believe the price of that stuff when we were considering running power to ours. Shout if you have any left over

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
High winds last night. Turned out suited and booted for work this morning then got the message "His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khaled has decreed that all schools and colleges in Asir provence remain closed today".
Safety reasons. It's been a perfect, spotless, windless day so far here, but we got a day off. Some of the students have to journey by car a long way along **** roads, so that may heve been the reason, but I reckon His Excellence mis-called this one. Not complaining!

Have you tried B&Q - armoured cable starts at about £25 for 25m? It's even cheaper if you have access to a trade card.DasNutNock wrote:Couldn’t believe the price of that stuff when we were considering running power to ours. Shout if you have any left over

The missus sending me a picture of all 3 kids in matching West Ham kits.
A picture that will no doubt haunt them in years to come.

As part of my birthday present (thanks, 26 since you ask) the ever fragrant Mrs Monkeybubbles bought me a bottle of decent sherry. I've never had sherry before. It's ****ing delicious.

If she plays her cards right, I might even pick up a 4 pack of their non-premium lager to accompany.sendô wrote:^ Anniversary Dinner with the missus written all over that.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Years ago it was the drink of choice for two Scottish alcoholic bricklayers I worked with. Every morning, they'd buy two bottles and have them drunk by lunchtime, at which point, they were virtually incoherent. To this day, I have never seen a man, cradle a bottle in the way one of them did after he fell over and broke one on the way to the site.Monkeybubbles wrote:As part of my birthday present (thanks, 26 since you ask) the ever fragrant Mrs Monkeybubbles bought me a bottle of decent sherry. I think Buckfast has taken over the coveted position of drink of choice for your common or garden Glaswegian pisshead but at one time, it was very popular.
Incidently, I always find it funnily ironic when I see a homeless bloke quaffing a can of "Tenants".

Quite possibly the worst drink (alcoholic) I've ever tasted, and trust me I've tasted an extremely wide and varied range of drinks over the yearsMonkeybubbles wrote:As part of my birthday present (thanks, 26 since you ask) the ever fragrant Mrs Monkeybubbles bought me a bottle of decent sherry. "Your an idiot". Always brings a smile to my face when I see this in a comments section, usually from a pro-gun American.

Getting the worst of the allotment clearing done today, in the sunshine. Fixed the shed, two tip runs to ditch the junk and unwanted plants, and the first bed dug. More tomorrow, then ought to be ready for a spot of planting.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
How very dare you? The thought never crossed my mind, twice this morning and again just as I left, late afternoon.
