Things you've always wanted to know......

No. I understand that one also has to live in a council flat.

Cor Blimey trousers were baggy baggy corduroy trousers, tried at the knees to prevent rats (of which there were plenty) running up the legs.

A "Cor Blimey" hat was an early World War One British soldier's hat which was equipped with ear flaps to protect from the cold during winters in the trenches. They didn't last long as they were replaced by the steel helmet known as the "Brodie Helmet".

What are those cables all about that you get across the road sometimes? Normally two thin cables which are attached to a metal box which is normally tied round a telegraph pole or something similar.

Er indoors reckons it might be to measure traffic. Is that right?

He must have used some sort of mind control drug on her. Either that or he got hold of some incriminating evidence (maybe that Streets song-related?).

Rohypnol?

Why doesn't drink make you feel "full up" like food does, they both have calories in?

Because the liquid doesn't need to be broken down in the gut; it is absorbed through the stomach lining much faster.

How you ever had 12 pints of Guinness?

.....is possibly the answer to both questions.

Yes, alcohol is quite calorific. Drink, being a liquid, will always enter & leave an empty stomach, much quicker than more solid food. Which is why it doesn't tend to make you feel full up.

My question is, why can you drink pints for hours without desperately needing a pee, but then, as SOON as you 'break the seal', you'll then be 'going', all night long?
