it's a match thread, and people are..well..discussing the match............
After every single draw or win, under Moyes you will get numerous posts highlighting the negatives, the reason we got the win ie Due with a fault with the opposition Not playing for the Manager/They had loads of injuries/They are on their holidays/worse side ever that has ever been at the OS. It gets sickening & you know what damn right deflating.
'This worse team ever' was posted by some after we beat Southampton 3-0. A team in relegation trouble & needing the points. A team that got to the FA Cup semis this season. In the league that just got beat 3-2 by Chelsea, 3-2 by Sp*rs....we boss them 3-0 & it's the fault with the opposition.....
Everton are not a sh*t team, 8th in the League & to get a 3-1 win & play some lovely stuff. Honestly if this was a review on tripadviser, giving your experience of this match & the overall feel, you wouldn't go anywhere near it. Selling us short here. Still sh*t loads good about the club.
I think we need to get some belief back in our team & stop the doom mongering even after a very good win.
If we don't praise ourselves & pick ourselves up, who will ????

I gave us praise....thought we played well....scored 3 cracking goals..
overall though, it's been a sh*t season both on and off the field................I didn't say Everton are a sh*t team but they did play sh*t today....
- from Everton's forum their game report - a couple of highlights...
For Everton, this was another poor away day showing to bring the curtain down on a simply dreadful season.
Two sides with nothing more than a semblance of professional pride to play for…
Two managers both fearing the end of their time with their respective clubs…
Two fan bases hoping for considerably better from their favourites next season…
This Sunday season finale between the ‘Ammers and Toffees had all the makings of an end-of-season snoozefest.
West Ham doubled their lead on 63 minutes as Arnautovic got away from Keane and crashed in a fierce shot that Pickford will probably be very self critical of himself for not doing better with.
West Ham secured the three points on 82 minutes as Lanzini fired home his second of the game and once again, Jordan Pickford will be disappointed with himself for not doing better.
It gives me no pleasure to say thank heavens that this dogs breakfast of a season has finally ended. Right from the very start, the standard of football served up by the boys in Blue has been largely dire with only the odd, fleeting high points.
The club, in so may areas is in desperate need of serious, serious re-evaluation and change, not least in terms of the manager and it is to be hoped that those who walk the corridors of power act and act decisively throughout the close season… starting tomorrow morning.
And they finished pretty comfortably in 8th...
It's a funny old game innit.....??

I thought the reason Everton looked average was because we made them look poor. Our work rate was fantastic, we kept the ball and wore them out. Arnautovic actually had players up with him in support. Sounds like it will be all change this summer though.

We could be stuck with the walrus .. Adria made 2 saves that saves us getting into the game... he forgets the Pickford save from Noble first half which would have seen us out of sight ... a manager clearly deluded ...
Aside from the first 10 minutes of the second half we completely controlled the game. Moyes and the players should take a fair bit of credit from that performance especially given the tie of the year ...

Please god don't give him a deal.
WE didn't ask him to do any job. Those c**** in charge did. They, and he, can f*** off.

Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread
So Moyes was on a 46 point pace (probably generous to just stretch out his points per match given scheduling early, but seems the fairest way to analyze it), exactly between what Bilic did last year and what got Allardyce replaced.davids cross wrote:17/18 - 13th...42pts (Bilic/Moyes)

Just watched the highlights, and I never even got a decent radio commentary, but what was that little handbaggery between Adrian and some Everton players about?

Striker followed through a bit. Another Everton player got involved for no reason. Expected Nobes to steam in.
Similar incident later at the other end. Arnie looked to have left a foot or something out as the keeper came out and Arnie ended up.getting a knock.

Good end to the season with some decent goals.
People may say that we've met 3 teams in the last 8 days with nothing to pay for but we've still put in a shift.

Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread
7 points from the last three games ends a dismal season on a positive note. Don’t agree with the attempts to diminish that outcome. You can make those arguments and claim we were fortunate but you could also balance that against the misfortunes we have experienced. I.e. Starting off the season with 3 consecutive games on the road. Bobby Madley being a complete idiot, injuries to our best players and terrible board decisions. So when assessing David Moyes you have to give him full credit for what he did which was keep us in the PL by a margin of 9 points.
I personally think we should stick with him and give him some money to build a strong defence and defensive midfield. Glad this season is over and can only hope that the board realize how close they were to disaster.

Thoroughly enjoyed today’s match, some of the football and way we passed the ball about was fantastic. Arnie and Lanzini really do seem to enjoy playing together, and I hope Lanzini isn’t off.
Fair play to Moyes and the players today.

Great performance, but my highlight of the day has to be a load of rock hard looking blokes in the Queens Head singing 'Can't smile without you' by Barry Manilow after the game. It brought a tear to my eye. Only at West Ham, and that's why I'm back next year.

Oh ta! Had to follow the entire match from the KUMB match thread, good as it is, you do need a commentary at least!
