Complete botch up at the back by Marseille, from Mandanda's poor kick out. To the Marseille defender dreaming and then Mandanda's going down too early, leaving Greizmann with the simplest of strokes into the net

I feel sorry for Payet. A player of his quality deserves a stage like that.

I hope this time next year people aren’t happy that Lanzini and / or Arnie are limping out of the big stage their new team had the ambition to get to.

o.

This exactly. Sullivan and the board played Payet and all of us for mugs.
Very sad to see him limp off and I feel the bitterness is unwarranted and pointless.

Hatred Payet gets at times baffles me. Best player you’ve all seen since the eighties and the best for a long while yet*

*waits for someone to amusingly suggest Arnautovic is on his level

Seems strange some people can hate everything the owners do but simultaneously still begrudge Payet telling them he wasn't going to waste his best years feeding Ashley Fletcher.

Dislike for the board and dislike for Payet should not be mutuallly exclusive.

Well, to be honest that was a bit of a drubbing. 3-0 Atletico and could have been more. Pictures of a completely forlorn and totally ****ed off Dimi sitting in the stands, if only pictures could speak. Atletico totally dominant, their players were everywhere so much so, at times it looked like they had about 30 players on the pitch

I chuckled. Lots. If i could've written a script for the match, it would've been this. If only Jim Bowen were still alive, he could've been standing there saying, "Now Dimitri, let's look at what you could've won...."

Nah. The board were still able to fool the support at that point, now they’re rumbled.

They weren’t even able to turn Fonte into a cartoon villain!

The ability of this lot to turn decent club servants like Parker into pariahs amongst the masses basically ended with Payet. You lose that ear when the outcome is Snodgrass.

If they follow Payet''s example and go on strike and insist on being sold to only one club, then they will deserve everything bad that happens to come their way

If, on the other hand, they want to leave but act like professionals and give 100% until they are sold to the highest bidder, I would wish them every success
