I feel fine about that. His wages would be huge and we have Adrian.steps wrote:Stories are now saying Pelelgrini has said West Ham can’t afford Claudio Bravo from City.

The real reason of course is the fear of getting too many "i"....or.. "n" in the latter half of his name...

Agree with these points - most PL clubs are "sell to buy" now. Take a ganders at Everton's fan forum GrandOldTeam and the majority of their posts could be copy and paste jobs from our site with regards to transfers.uptonparkhurst wrote:Pellers wants to sign a "big name" - fair enough, but leaving aside the arguments about breaking pay-caps etc ,I would argue that whether or not a star player becomes a magnet for more stars, our manager just doesn't get the Board's m.o:.
1)The more that the "big name" costs, the less cash is left in the pot to spend in this window, regardless of what other stars suddenly decide that the club is worth joining.
2)No manager is likely to get another substantial transfer kitty unless results are spectacularly good and definitely not if one of the transfers doesn't work out.
3)I think that when Gold spoke about last year's horrendous injury list, he and Sully truly believe that the squad doesn't need much investment - just sign a "name" manager and, hey presto, he'll work his magic with the squad and it's "next level here we come".
However, I don't think buying that 'one star player' is about attracting other expensive stars per se, I think it's just about attracting a higher quality of player (than Cheiko, Antonio etc.) who vastly improves our team and who could become a star player in their own right one day.
Most of these 'potential star players' will genuinely have their pick of the bottom 15 clubs, and having a Anderson, Arnie, Lanzini etc. can tip the balance in our favour, as well as send a positive message about the football we plan to play. We only have to look at Payet/Arnie/Mahrez to see what one star player can do for a team in terms of style and success.

The more I see of Pellegrini the more I like him.. I really hope he keeps pulling sully and co up publicly to make the world see them for what they are!

In my case "Pellers" involves less typing.e17 wrote:“Pellers”

Peligroso (dangerous) could be an alternative, I suppose.
As Bubbles said - its Pellegreenie, which sounds more italian than spanish (to me)!

Just like when I got banned for ironically saying how wonderful Sullivan looked when Pelligrini signed! Apparently I was trolling for ripping the p out of Sullivan....
