Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
Germany just have everything. Experience, depth, ability, balance but how often to the favourites actually win it?
Spain don’t have much balance up front but on paper have the best back 5 and midfield. France have an excellent and deep squad but you can never trust them to not be French. Brasil look good in almost every position and seem quite balanced for once but a few of them can lose their heads and Russia might not suit them.
The fact that Argentina are 5th favourites shows you how good Messi is because that squad is absolutely awful except for the four attackers of which only 2 will start and 1 (Higuan) is the biggest choker i’ve ever witnessed in my life.
So wih all that said, still no idea.

They have everything. An outstanding goalkeeper, a mean defence, crucial to winning it, a very competitive midfield and up front, a choice selection of goalscorers. They are ****ing difficult to play against and can be the most cynical of opponents. They are my choice toosimon hammer wrote:Uruguay

Germany have left Sane out of their 23

I thought that, they must have a good squad to leave a player of his ability out!stu1 wrote:Germany have left Sane out of their 23

I also like Uruguay as a bit of a wildcard pick. They should win their group and probably beat Portugal in the round of 16. From there who knows.
Germany or Brazil appear to be the obvious candidates.

I read he was being a Billy big b*llocks Iron Mike style in training so they panned him.James P wrote:If Germany can afford to leave Sane at home I’m not sure what chance the rest of us have
Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
Very very difficult to win back to back world cups so as good as Germany are, I can’t see them achieving that feat.
Therefore, my monies on Spain with Uraguay to do well and reach at least the semis!

I stuck a tenner on Portugal at 25/1 the day before it all started.

I want them eliminated in the group stages but that definitely is "natural bias"Joyeux Marteau wrote:I'd like France to win but that may be natural bias!
