I don't normally wish for bad weather, but if a hurricane could sweep through here now, I'd be grateful.
It's a nice evening and I don't want to sit inside with the windows and doors shut you talentless *****

Make your own. I love a home made curry. The red is usually just food colouring but you will be able to adjust the sweetness, heat etc to your taste.sendô wrote:The inability of nearly all indian takeaways to make a decent Massala.
Always too red, always too sweet.

Ask them to make it "Bengali style - not sweet and slightly hotter" and it will be better. My local Indian manager told me this tip years ago and it's stood me in good stead ever since.jastons wrote:sendô wrote:

Re: Little things that irritate you
I went to get the car out of the garage this morning, and there was an enormous black toad sitting under the tyre. I mean enormous, like the size of my head, and I've got a very big head.
So I did what every man would do. I took Mrs Monkeybubbles car instead, and left her to deal with the ****ing gollum.

Almost always bought pastry, too, with the chef explaining that there's no point in making your own.rare as rockinghorse shat wrote:"Pies" and "pie" recipes that just have a lid.

There is no point in making your own at home.
Also, I've got to admit a pie with just a lid is actually a decent filling to pastry ratio. A full pie is always a bit pastry heavy.

One for me, the bird in the cafe who just cut my sausage sandwich into four pieces, like I'm a 5 year old.

On the contrary, store bought pastry tastes of nothing. Home made puff pastry and rough puff pastry is, by contrast, sublime.sendô wrote:There is no point in making your own at home.

People being underhand in work, trying to get new stuff when nothing is wrong with it. If you come out and ask for something in a polite manner be far more receptive than it "don't work" or "glitching" and then hint a new replacement of it, just so sly.
