I do tend to know the foods that are going to make it happen.

They are nearly all my favourite ones.... :)

I started having problems in my teens...........nothing serious but it would be uncomfortable sometimes. That's continued all my life. Doctor originally gave me some chalk like muck about 40 years ago. It worked though.

It's never reached the stage where I needed to talk to the doctor about it again.

Funny thing is, my mum has a hiatus hernia........Hereditary I wonder..
That's probably where I got it from :D

Lemons have natural buoyancy (lemon-aid), but although limes sink they can't drop below the plum line.

Because the lime is more dense.

There's a joke in there somewhere.

Who the feck has stolen my lamp post?
When I left the house this morning it was there at the end of my front garden. When I got back this evening the thing was gone.

Guess that's the only answer, unless lemons are better swimmers.

I often hear the term "African American" when referring to black people in America.

Why don't we refer to black people in UK as "African British"
Or do we and I just haven't heard it?

Over here it's more usually Afro-Caribbean, or just black. Or now, people of colour.

Because Americans seem to have a weird obsession about where they're "from", probably due to the fact that America didn't exist as a country a few hundred years ago. We don't have that obsession, and generally just consider everyone English/British etc.

Is that right? I suppose nobody knew it was there until Columbus "discovered" it.
