no chance will they let us buy Diaz - he's the next big thing. i can understand them letting us borrow him for a season but is he that much better than Quina??

Is Quina the next big thing here? He's not particularly impressed me any time I've seen him.Mean Ashton wrote:no chance will they let us buy Diaz - he's the next big thing. i can understand them letting us borrow him for a season but is he that much better than Quina??

If we get Anderson and Diop signed in the next few weeks, I might just allow myself to get a little bit excited.
We'll still need another CB, DM, CM and AM but it will be a cracking start, as long as it's not being funded by the sale of our best players.
Fabianski - £7m
Fredericks - Free
Diop - £20m
Santos/Mawson - £18m
Dendoncker - £20m
Wilshere - Free
Anderson - £30m
Mario - Loan
I'd be happy with that, can be part funded with the sale of Kouyate, Snodgrass, Hugill, Byram, Fernandes and Carroll

From the Mail just now,
West Ham Diop-ing into the transfer market
SIMON JONES: West Ham have opened talks with Toulouse over a £26million deal for Issa Diop.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who has been monitored by Barcelona, Tottenham and Arsenal, is keen on a move to London and West Ham have proposed a deal which would see the payment made over three years.
Sportsmail reported West Ham's interest at the weekend and they have now firmed up their interest though a deal is still short of being concluded.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 58 days remaining
I still think we'll end up with a negative net spend - at best it will be a tiny positive outlay. Hernandez + Arnie could bring us north of £60M.

Just quickly - on the topic of those stats, there are a few errors.Up the Junction wrote: It's all here: http://www.kumb.com/stats_contracts.php
For example under 'longest serving players', Ogbonna is down as joining in 2017 and not 2015.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 58 days remaining
The owners have said that they will spend 75 million in this window and that surely means 75 million NET, if not then they are simply lying again.DasNutNock wrote:I still think we'll end up with a negative net spend - at best it will be a tiny positive outlay. If important players like Arnie or Hernandez will be sold then that should be reinvested in full, that is the least we deserve after the Olympic Stadium move.

Tackler, no chance will we have a £75m NET spend!
You should know, how they work by now.

I'd love you to be right, but... well, you know.Tackler wrote:The owners have said that they will spend 75 million in this window and that surely means 75 million NET, if not then they are simply lying again.

I am hoping they will do things differently now.somerset-hammer wrote:Tackler, no chance will we have a £75m NET spend!

A long time ago they said that they will take us to the next level, well then 75 million NET is definitely needed at least!
I do not expect it to happen though because of their history but I am cautiously optimistic about that they are going to spend more now.
75 million is peanuts btw in today's market ! So if they want to make sure we wont be battling relegation next year then they better spend 75 million NET! If they cannot then they simply just have to sell up and f*** off.
