"Do you think some of it is down to who is available, by way of managers and players?"
You raise a good point Northern_Light and it shows with the current Pell boy effect that the calibre or status of a manager does have bearing.
The consideration for me is twice West Ham have been in good positions in recent years when a couple of additions (especially up front) could have been the difference in finishing 4th rather than 7th.
I am not ITK at all so maybe there was complications in bringing in players but I just feel that if the club was serious about raising the clubs level then when you are 3/4th come Jan, purchases could have been made irrespective of being Big Sam or Fergie.
I appreciate some say that the winter window is difficult to buy players but we have enough pull and dare I say money to buy a decent striker. Didn't have to be Lacazette but better than Emenike .

The only way you will get rid of Brady , is for Gold to pass the reins onto one or both of his daughters , who like Brady take no prisoners . The natural fall out between ambitious women should have the desired effect

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
I posed this question on the summer transfer thread where it was not the right place
There are lots of posters who have said they will never forgive the owners for the lies/ spin that was spouted during the stadium move
However, if 5 or 10 years down the line, there has been investment and we are regularly in the top 6, would the stuff they said still be classified as lies?
I do not believe for one minute that we will be in that situation, more of a hypothetical question...

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
Well may sound subtly different but if they were saying as it would have been back then 8 to 13 years it might have sounded a bit more achievable and less of a lie just to get us into the stadium. But fact is until the natives became Bolshie they had no intension of pushing ahead in the ways that they boasted of, the move was a a fait accompli and the last two summer Windows have proved that. And let's be honest it's not so much the time that has wound those fans up but the lack of intension to deliver it at all until they had little choice.Crouchend_Hammer wrote:I posed this question on the summer transfer thread where it was not the right place

i really dont care what they say, do , tweet or fart , it doesnt matter , far too much water has gone under the bridge for them to receive any redemption from the fans .

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
They could spend every penny they own on the team. Sell every cossack hat, every dildo, every gold-plated water feature and plough it all into transfer fees and wages, and I wouldn't forgive them. Not even a start.
It's not about money. It's about lies and contempt.
A start is a public apology, followed by steps to give our club a home we can be proud of.
That's a start.

Sadly, one of the daughters has already said they’re not interested.chigwells finest wrote:The only way you will get rid of Brady , is for Gold to pass the reins onto one or both of his daughters , who like Brady take no prisoners . Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
They have made two typical signings (free and old/cheap) and one signing that they should be making.
Add 3 or 4 signings of the Calibre we should be signing, keep our best players.
Then sack Brady and sort the stadium out and we can start talking about forgiveness

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
My view is although I will never truly forgive them for what they have done to our club our biggest qualm with them has been them not taking us to the 'next level'. We reluctantly left UP in the hope of competing at a higher level, all this unrest has come about because of lack of investment. If they do spend 100m this summer (which I find very hard to believe for the record) they are definitely going someway to sticking to that promise, maybe just a few years too late.
Whatever you think of them, if they was to invest heavily this summer and we had a good season you can be sure all the anti board feeling would go away. The bottom line is this ill feeling some what lies with our performances on the pitch.

On track to make over £100m profit over two seasons....
We shouldn’t start to be won over by a free transfer right back, relatively cheap goalkeeper a big money centre back who hopefully beds in ok to the premier league

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
In my book, they have burnt too many bridges with their actions, lies and half-truths.
And whenever they bugger off they will do so having made a massive profit from owning us. They have been incredibly lucky too.
If you spread their entire transfer spending over the time of their reign, it's a miracle we only got relegated once with them running the show.
Should they start spending now I would view that as protecting their investment and very much the natural thing to do...

They saved us which I will always be grateful for, but then they sold us out, putting themselves first above Our Club, only one thing comes first with the two of them, their personal ego's and Money, Money, Money! Still feel they will sell out if the right offer comes, but who Big wants a club who rents a ground, I will not call it a stadium!

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
They are c****, as the majority of us are saying on here. I always find at the stadium "we" give GSB more support than certainly on here, always find that strange.
The window so far has been good, what is p'ing me off is that the FF signature is typical of West Ham (cheap option from many on here), FF is 25, he has the ability & more importantly the pace to change our RH side of the team, he "could" be an exceptional signing.
If FF was 31+ and coming for a final pay day, I would get it, not having this is a typical WH signing, his age, hunger is exactly who I want to see us buying, along with Diop. Plus as a business, we are actually getting players that if they perform will go onto "bigger" clubs for more money. These two signings alone fit everything I think we should be doing as a club.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
club would never of folded , name any top level club that has ? all this crap that they saved us is a nonsense , they saw a opportunity to buy us , when previously they were rebuffed due to the dubious nature of their business dealings ( ie: porn ) .jaybs wrote:They saved us which I will always be grateful for, but then they sold us out, putting themselves first above Our Club, only one thing comes first with the two of them, their personal ego's and Money, Money, Money! Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
Talk of 'forgiveness' is nonsense. If people feel GSB have irreparably damaged the club, signing a few good players won't change that. For me I don't care if they make money from owning the club as long as the club benefits AS WELL. If West Ham Limited (or whatever they're called) make a good profit and that earns them money as well it can only be a good thing long term. It's when the club makes a loss and they still make mi££ions I object. The owners are not the club, Unfortunately damaging the owners usually damages the club, whatever happens they'll not lose. Will they sell eventually? who knows. Perhaps they've realised a successful club will sell easier and for more than a basket case (see Aston Villa)
