Re: Little things in life that make you smile
They mentioned on the commentary last night that Alf Ramsey was 16 months younger in 1966 than Southgate is now. I always thought he was ancient.
Similarly, these two sprightly old coffin dodgers were 31 and 29 when this photo was taken:

Make the most of it, they're talking about me going home within the next day or two, albeit under strict supervision (a.k.a. house arrest.). .............get building that ark.

The Scottish.
Imagine your nation being so **** at football, the only thing you have to celebrate during a World Cup, is Englands elimination.

^ It seems to be a significant minority. Same with the Irish and Welsh. Remember in 2016 when England went out and Wales celebrated like they'd won it.

I don't get it. Imagine your own country being that **** that you can only get joy from watching another country fail to win.

TBH, I was pretty pleased when the Germans went out, but I didn’t quite feel the need to dance around a pub by way of celebration.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Yes, but it's different with the Germans, because a) they always bloody win, b) the war, and c) there's a specific term for taking pleasure at Germany's misery.DasNutNock wrote:TBH, I was pretty pleased when the Germans went out, but I didn’t quite feel the need to dance around a pub by way of celebration.

In truth, had I been at a pub when Germany went home, I probably would have danced around.

I'm the same when Andy Murray gets knocked out of tennis tournaments!

Put up a rope swing in the garden for the kids. I may or may not have just tested it for the last 15 minutes, whilst making Tarzan noises as I swung.

^ I may or may not have embarrassed myself last week swinging along a zip line that was designed for children, and not for an adult of 14st+.

I don't wanna come off as a smug ****hole even more than usual, but Brighton is a very excellent place to be on a sunny Friday afternoon.
