Re: Andy Carroll
Too many injuries during his time with us to put it down to just bad luck.
Not playing football for at least the best part of two months and then feeling pain in the ankle just happens as soon as pre season starts ? It doesn’t add up.

Re: Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll is a great player, International class imho. I keep hoping he puts all these injury problems behind, I really do.
But it's not beyond a joke now, it got that way along time ago.
I guess it has already been asked, but how much would it actually cost to pay up his contract, wish him all the best and for both parties to go their separate ways.

Either we pay him off now, or he leaves in 11 months. At least if we keep him we’ll have him to score his usual 3-6 goals at important times.

Re: Andy Carroll
what's the benefit of paying off a contract?
might aswell just send him on a tour of kids' hospitals or have him licking stamps in the post room.

Re: Andy Carroll
When he prepared to take the penalty in Winterthur I joked about him getting injured taking the penalty kick.
Looks like I wasn't wrong.... such a shame, such a good player when fully fit.

Re: Andy Carroll
Just kick him out! don't pay him and see if he wants to fight us in court, a total idiot and he is making mugs of us all, in any other real-world job that's what would happen, there must be some clause in his contract not to pay the useless ****!!

Re: Andy Carroll
At least the manager can get used to preparing a match day squad without him in it. Carroll’s still a massive weapon when fit, but should be treated as nothing more than a bonus player to bring off the bench, until his contract winds down. Chelsea must be thanking their lucky stars.

Re: Andy Carroll
Has Carroll ever had an injury where’s he’s out for only a few days? Every injury seems to result in months out, plus an operation. On his day he’s a real handful, but his run of injuries (and the fact that he obviously doesn’t look after himself away from the club) means that I cannot wait for his contract to be up.

Re: Andy Carroll
It’s tragic really. There is a theory to his fragility you know. As a teenager he was a short arse full back. He then grew at an incredible rate. The theory is this made him very suspectible to injury which unfortunately has been proven.
None of this is his fault. The derisory comments on here and by some cretin called carol Combes on claret and Hugh are a disgrace.

Re: Andy Carroll
I don’t for one second believe that Carroll isn’t devastated by the ‘what could have been’ of his career.
I feel sorry for the guy as a footballer. Obviously he earns more a week than I do a year but that says more about the funding of our schools than anything

Re: Andy Carroll
Beyond a joke now with Carroll. If he was an animal he would have been put down by now.
Reid too seems to miss as many games as he plays in the past couple of seasons.

Only consolation is that both Reid and Carroll and no longer guaranteed starters (when they are actually fit).

His contract is up this year. Until then there’s no poIsn’t getting rid unless someone offers us a fee.Antwerp_Lad wrote:****ing sick of this ****, get rid of him.

Re: Andy Carroll
I'll always remember and appreciate the hattrick against Arsenal.
It was one of the worst days of my life, for me and my family, and his goals brought some welcome joy to us.
We need to move on from him though. He takes half a dozen games to get fit enough to be of use then breaks down right away every time.
