Little things in life that make you smile

They mentioned on the commentary last night that Alf Ramsey was 16 months younger in 1966 than Southgate is now. I always thought he was ancient.

Similarly, these two sprightly old coffin dodgers were 31 and 29 when this photo was taken:

The Scottish. :)

Imagine your nation being so **** at football, the only thing you have to celebrate during a World Cup, is Englands elimination.

World Cups qualified for in the 21st century England: 5 Togo: 1 Scotland: 0
It's not even irritating, and I know it'll only be a minority, bless em.

^ It seems to be a significant minority. Same with the Irish and Welsh. Remember in 2016 when England went out and Wales celebrated like they'd won it.

I don't get it. Imagine your own country being that **** that you can only get joy from watching another country fail to win.

TBH, I was pretty pleased when the Germans went out, but I didn’t quite feel the need to dance around a pub by way of celebration.

Yes, but it's different with the Germans, because a) they always bloody win, b) the war, and c) there's a specific term for taking pleasure at Germany's misery.

In truth, had I been at a pub when Germany went home, I probably would have danced around.

Put up a rope swing in the garden for the kids. I may or may not have just tested it for the last 15 minutes, whilst making Tarzan noises as I swung.

^ I may or may not have embarrassed myself last week swinging along a zip line that was designed for children, and not for an adult of 14st+.
