This b*stard gnat bite on my calf that has swollen so much I can hardly get my leg out/in my jeans.
I always get a few big bites every summer, still waiting on the obligatory sausage finger bite.

In Belgium they do it to beer. They call it Mazut. I call it sacrilege.sendô wrote:I just saw a woman in a café order a glass of red wine with her spaghetti, and then proceed to pour coca cola into the wine.

Add some amaretto to that an it's a Dr Pepper. Nice as one of those trick shots.Greatest Cockney Rip Off wrote: In Belgium they do it to beer. They call it Mazut. I call it sacrilege.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Kids in general but especially kids in supermarkets.
They don't talk to each other, they shout to each other & usually right in my old, tender ears, as I'm passing.
Or they're screeching with the decibels of jumbo jet taking off. For no good reason.
Or they run around as if it's a playground.
Or their parents let them stand in their trolley without caring that their dirty shoes might also have dog s**t on them & the person using that trolley next will be putting their carefully chosen shopping, straight on to dog s**t.

Re: Little things that irritate you
What irritates me, and I do appreciate I could probably to something to stop it, is auto correct.
Just earlier in this thread I thought I had typed the word cola and a have just seen it had changed it to food, rendering my comment completely pointless.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Having my name removed from an academic paper that I did a lot of work out of spite.
I've just written my first paper and instead of using data a post doc and I had produced I went with something from someone else which shows the concept more clearly. As a result the original post doc doesn't go on the paper as she hasn't contributed to it in anyway.
She's seen this yesterday and then removed me from the paper we collaborated on, during which I did a lot of work for. As someone who is just starting out I need all the collaborations I can get, so to lose one because she is annoyed I went in another direction with my work is beyond petty.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Difference is she's used my work in the paper, named me as co-author. The found out I haven't included hers so therefore quite rightly haven't named her and as a result taken me off whilst still using the results that I generated.

Nothing exciting but it's the principle of the thing that annoys me.
