Re: the New kits thread
I think it looks terrible even in the official photos!
Shame, as the two TIWFC third kits were fantastic the two years previous!

Nice to see us having some of the new women's team signings in that video, too.Dieter Eckstein wrote:3rd kit actually looks decent when not in a grainy, unofficial pic:

Seems the grey was a red herring. That’s white, right?
Re: the New kits thread
Not sure what colour it is but it does look a lot better in the official photos.

Yes come around to that rather classy indeed, certainly will look better on our more dusky players than the pale ones no doubt, though now that Ginge has gone those are in short supply.

Re: the New kits thread
Why did we not go with sky blue shorts? would have looked nicer and they could have been worn with the home kit if needed, we've essentially got two types of white shorts!
On another note, I hated it when Nike did different coloured socks to the rest of the kit aka England red socks a couple of years ago and I hate the away yellow socks we have, shame as the shirts are okay.

Same as last season, two pairs of plain white shorts, just a different badge. Crazy.Lovejoy2 wrote:we've essentially got two types of white shorts!

Re: the New kits thread
Agree with those saying the shorts should have been blue. Hopefully we’re not going to end up in a situation where we’re wearing the Home shirt with the away shorts. That would look hideous.
And as un-traditional as it was, I thought the Home shirt/shorts looked great with the 3rd socks against Preston on Saturday. If we’re breaking from tradition with non-blue sleeves for a season, I wouldn’t have minded seeing the socks adding the blue to the overall kit.

Re: the New kits thread
I quite like the home shirt and I don't mind the predominantly claret sleeves. We have our traditional home shirt of claret body and blue sleeves so there's only so much you can do to freshen up the look each year to make it different enough from last year's effort so that people will want to buy the new one.
What I would like though is for us to establish an away kit in the same way. I think the most iconic West Ham away kit is the blue shirt with claret hoops and I'd be happy with a variation on that each year.
Then the third kit could always be some kind of variation of the white shirt with one claret and one blue hoop.
Classy and instantly recognisable as West Ham.

Looked at it for a while now, and I'm liking the third kit. Really like the little claret and blue detail bits on the shoulders. There's an air of those ridiculous and yet awesome 90s kits about it. Actually reminds me a lot of a kit I can remember seeing my Dad wearing in the early 90s, possible either the Bukta 91 or 92 one? It has the same sort of thing on the shoulders and then also had the pattern repeated around the middle.

Re: the New kits thread
Everton away is typically the only fixture that causes us hassle with mixing and matching kit. Pretty sure they will just use last seasons sky blue shorts for one game. If not, claret shirt, navy shorts and sky or yellow socks... hmmm...!Dieter Eckstein wrote:Hopefully we’re not going to end up in a situation where we’re wearing the Home shirt with the away shorts. Palace away would need to mix and match but we could just wear all white.
We could wear the same kit as we wore against Preston at Chelsea, Fulham, Newcastle and Spurs (possibly Everton too although the shorts would clash).
The rest seem straight forward...
Home - Cardiff, Leicester, Watford, Wolves
Away - Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Huddersfield, Man City, Southampton,
Third - Bourenmouth, Liverpool, Man Utd,

Re: the New kits thread
I like the third kit, but I'm not sure why we've got white shorts again, nor why there's sky blue socks with an otherwise all white kit.
Still, it's better than the away kit - something I hope and pray we will never wear such is it's awfulness.
Home kit looks good too, the claret sleeves thing doesn't really bother me.

Re: the New kits thread
I'd have said claret shorts and blue socks... and yes, I also agree that it has a lot in common with the 3rd kit in 92 (our first ever 3rd kit I think?!).
