Tonight will be southern fried chicken & salad. Feel like I deserve it, though I’m not sure I should be making the kitchen super hot with all that frying oil.

Someone brung a kebab in for lunch at the office yesterday. Fair to say, there were some jealous glances heading in his direction.

Has to be fairly family-friendly - plain flour, cayenne, turmeric, smoked paprika, powdered garlic, onion salt, salt, oregano, black pepper. Buttermilk for the chicken (or as today, whole milk with some lemon juice).

What’s your mix?

Soak in buttermilk for at least 12 hours with a dry ranch dressing mix and sometimes some sriracha sauce, salt and pepper.
Then I used a packaged seasoned flour called Kentucky Kernel for the coating.
Start in the skillet on the stove and end up in the oven.
