In the case of Carroll it will literally be for one day.

Anyone else hear our large boned ex manager from Dudley on TS yesterday pretty much confirm that regardless what players the manager wanted diddy Dave would sign who he wanted instead?

Hmmmm yes and no. Come out of those games without a decent points tally ( which is very possible ) and panic will set in early. Theres not many places to hide if those games go wrong ( and dont we know that !!! )

It will be fascinating to see how many, if any, European clubs try to unsettle players in the PL between now and the start of September.

Will Real Madrid make a low ball bid for Hazard ? How strong is Chelsea's desire to retain an unsettled player ?

Does Pogba fancy Paris more than Manchester ?

If Obiang downs tools will we resist Sampdoria making another enquiry ?

Will Oxford move to Germany ?

And, most of all, if Tottenham only take 2 points from their opening 3 fixtures, could they write their season off and flog Ali, Alderwield and Rose ? They'll make the top 4 without those 3, and a poor start will mean they can't win it .

Will Levy cash in ? I suspect he might.

I reckon a few Chairman will be balancing books .

'They'll make the top 4 without those 3,..'

Wow thats a brave prediction, especially after a poor start.

Missed that but no surprise. One just wonders on the back of that claim how one might do that without having a knowledge of a 'club policy' of not signing any more Africans of course. But then the two sides of Sully's brain do have a habit of working totally independently judging by the output from the pr Dept.

On Sky Sports Allardyce was commenting on our Transfer Window and said something along the lines (in a humourous way) that Sullivan would need to have a lie down/ would be really stressed about spending all this money, and then said 'if you are listening, why didn't you give me this money to spend?'

It was all said fairly tongue in cheek but easy to understand the gist. It annoyed Jim White anyways

Allardyce may be a complete ****, but he can be a funny one sometimes

No way will Tottenham make Champions League if they sell them 3, IMO i dont think they'll make it if they keep all 3, but sell them and they can forget it, be interesting to see what Modern and any other Spurs fans on here think.

Tottenham will have a fight on their hands to stay in the top 4. Man City will win the thing, Liverpool look set for a good season, Man U have a lot of quality and Maureen will grind out points. Arsenal will be more solid at the back, even Chelsea who've had a shocking pre-season will be ok with Sarri as the gaffer and already have some world class players in their squad.

Sixth at best for me, i also don't believe it's as impossible as it's made out for someone else to break into the top six. The suspected mid-table teams such as us, Everton, Leicester and maybe Wolves have never looked stronger.

Has Fernandes gone anywhere yet? There were a couple of Italian clubs interested, or did I imagine it?

Not yet, but the Italian window doesn't close until 17/8. Current injury may also be causing a delay to any deal for him.

Great Window overall. A lot of signings for the first team so that always a worry in terms of coming together. Unfortunately that is a result of the last two years poor dealings. Hopefully going forward we can go for quality over quantity and begin to identify real targets that gradually improve the first XI.

Still time for a few outs. Obiang and Fernandes most at risk. Could potentially see Zaba also going (hopefully not though)

Wonder what IRON MIKE does between transfer windows.

I have him lacing daisies into the hair of his hippy lover Gavin.
