Adrian
fredericks diop ogbonna cresswell
rice noble
Antonio wilshere Anderson
arnautovic
subs fab zab Balbuena Arthur obiang Hernandez yarmolenko
1-0 cockney boys arnie first 10 mins, masterclass by Adrian thereafter.
we need to match their pace and be disciplined in midfield, attacking 3 to drop back to make a 5 in midfield when needed. arnie to put his chance away .

I do think it's going to be fascinating to see his first line up.
I think he'll go with:
Fabianski
Cresswell
Fredericks (purely cos liverpool have so much pace)
Ogbonna
Rice
Obiang
Wlishire
Noble
Anderson
Yarmalenko (or Antonio)
Arnie.

I hope the boss has spotted that Henderson marks himself out of the game when his cb’s have the ball. I think it is a real weakness that he refuses to make himself available to receive the ball and we can exploit it by pressing high up the pitch
Hoping for a draw rather than a similar showing to last year

I don't know what team he will put out, there are some players just arrived so they won't be included.
Liverpool will be one of the best teams we play this year and are a handful for anyone.
Worrying that Sturridge has scored in nearly all their preseason games, he always scores against us ( and then does that annoying celebration and then gets injured for 6 months ).
As good as Pellegrini is it's asking a lot to expect us to be transformed straight away so I think we need to be realistic and I think we need to give this new set of players a good few matches and hope they gel and settle down.
As others have said football is a funny game and first games of the season can sometimes turn form on it's head.
A draw would be a really great start for us, there should be plenty goals as both teams have good options up front.
A win would be unbelievable and very very welcome as I hate these fellahs with a passion.

A tough game to start with but maybe a good time to play them as it takes a few games for teams to get into first gear.
Looking for us to give it a go with confidence when we have the ball and more pressing of the ball all over the park when we have not got it.
With this squad we must be looking for a position between 7-10 and not spending most of the season looking at the relegation positions.
I am condfident of a better season but next level comes with a few more 100 million transfer windows.
Looking forward to another good away day.

Often a chance of street parking quite close where the kids will 'watch your car' for you...
Other "official" car parks are all visible on the approach roads with the yellow P signs. Personally, I have found it easier in the past to park in the city centre and get the train to Sandhills. From there you can either walk (about 15 mins) or get the Soccerbus to the ground.[/quote]
Thanks. Using my 'Just Park' app and using a guys drive way.

If I could pick one game to win this season it would be this one. Burst their bubble before it gets too inflated!

adrian
fredericks diop ogbonna arthur
noble rice wilshere

And other than possibly Yarmelenko and maybe the general on paper its about our best team lets see how they go

hammerman11 giving us his score prediction and starting line-up 5 times over the last 3 pages is surely a new record

That's exactly the team I'd go for. Bit worried Arthur vs Salah mind. WIll be interesting to see how Masuaku gets involved in the attack on Sunday!Tommy B wrote:I think we will go something like this:

Arthur and Cresswell is a tough one. I just think Arthur is a better footballer even though his defending is a bit meh.

Its about the hardest game we could get first up away to Liverpool who are expecting a big year with some new big signings wanting to impress. Unfortunately i think we could get hammered but hopefully we go there with a proper plan and spoil their party. A good performance here can set us up for the year

5-0
I'm sure Salah and Sturridge both scored.
Edit - as well as Moreno, Wijnaldum and Milner.
