Hmmmm yes and no. Come out of those games without a decent points tally ( which is very possible ) and panic will set in early. Theres not many places to hide if those games go wrong ( and dont we know that !!! )
It is a long old season, look at the start Palace had last season... lost the first seven without even scoring!
How on earth we let them finish above us from there is beyond me.

Antonio just had to keep it in the corner!

I agree with the view that Spurs could sink a few places next season. A lot depends on Kane who, despite winning the Golden Boot, was visibly lethargic for England towards the end. Besides the lack of any transfers, they have players returning late too. Players like Rose and Alderweireld wanting to leave/touted to other clubs sends a message to the rest of the squad. Levy's modus operandi has been exposed this summer. And they have bought quite poorly in some cases and being unable to shift the deadwood hampers them. Again, Levy's hard-nosed approach has come back to bite him.

If it was me and there was no transfer budget, I'd probably sell Kane for £200m and reinvest that in players. Man U aren't splashing the cash anymore however. Who is left? PSG? Real? 6th to 8th looks likely for them. Bahaha.

Not transfers but staff changes....

Good to see Collison progressing through the ranks. Been moved from working with the U16's and is now with the U18s.

Steve Potts has also made a similar move and moved from the U18s to run the U23s alongside Liam Manning.

I like this from Pellegrini:
"When I spoke with the owner, we agreed what the project would be for West Ham in the future," he said during this morning's pre-match press conference.

We've been focused on the immediate term for too long. One of the reasons I thought Diop was a bit of a landmark was because it's not probable that he will immediately offer £25m worth of difference. He's for the future, and a defender. Unthinkable before this window.

Everton hoping to complete a loan deal for Zouma today - anyone know how they're allowed to do that? Thought it was deal sheet by 5pm, deal done by 7pm?

It seems a strange one, but it seems he's not registered for Chelsea's PL squad, so that might have something to do with it?

Not disputing it, but everything I read said that getting the deal sheet in before 5pm meant you had till 7pm to complete the deal, so I'm not sure how they're doing it today!

No permanent transfers outside of the window. I'm sure we'd have sold him if there was an acceptable offer - the fact he's gone on loan suggests that there wasn't!

I think it shows you how poor the squad was that none of our players command fees apart from kouyate for 10m which in todays market is a giveaway. he should have been 20m at least.

obiang attracted a 9m offer ! I wouldn't sell him but if we have to then surely 20m is the starting point. hopefully Pellegrini will keep him and improve him.

byram - loan to forest . not good enough for us. quick, injury prone and too many fouls.

Snodgrass - back with the squad but a decent offer would have seen him go.

burke - 1m should have kept him as showed more than some when he played.

oxford - everton offered 3m ! another insult. rumoured bad attitude so hopefully we can shift to germany for 15m

Antonio - palace looked for around 15m. again an insult and at least 25m

highill - no offers so on loan to boro. we will be lucky to get 5m for him

our players have been poor reflected in the poor value put on them by other teams.

If people are only offering £10 million for our players then that’s what they’re worth to them. If they’re worth more to us then we don’t sell them.

We didn’t want Kouyate, Kouyate wanted to leave. The fact that Crystal Palace offered £10 million tells you what you need to know about him. On no planet is he a £20 million player.

Is “ex” the worlds biggest narcissist? What a moron. Likely unsettling a player, just to see if the media take notice of his self absorbed ramblings.
