Got to think the 7 subs from today will start this one. Then blend in 4. Wouldn't be surprised to see Xande Silva given a game.

Pellers went pretty much full strength against WImbledon. The first team needs to be getting matches under their belts together.

Re: West Ham United v Macclesfield Town: League Cup Rd 3 (26/9)
I'd start Perez, Fredericks, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Adrian & Silva as definites.
If Hernandez is capable of featuring, I'd try to make sure he gets some time, so he's a meaningful option vs Man United.
Macclesfield have averaged precisely two goals conceded, per game, and lie bottom of 'division 4'.
What could possibly go wrong

Re: West Ham United v Macclesfield Town: League Cup Rd 3 (26/9)
I would rest as many of the players than are planned to start against Man Utd as possible. There is only 2 days inetween both games. We have been screwed over big time. But there is no excuses for the back up to not be good enough to beat these, like they did against Wimbledon. Shame Silva is injured as I would've started him.
My team would be:
-------------------------------------Adrian-------------------------------
-Fredericks--------------Diop-----------Ogbonna------------------Cresswell-
------------------------Sanchez----------Rice------------------------------------
----------------------------------Snodgrass---------------------------------------
-Antonio---------------------Hernandez-------------------------------Perez-
Subs: Fabianski, Zabaleta, Masuaku, Oxford, Noble, Anderson, Yarmalenko.

I don't think playing the wider squad is an indication we are not taking cups seriously. Macclesfield are bottom of division 4
Our 'non-first X1' squad should win comfortably
Adrian
Fredericks
Ogbonna
Diop
Cresswell
Sanchez
[not sure, do we have a youngster to play CM]
Snodgrass
Antonio
Hernandez
Silva ([if fit] - if not, play Perez

No messing!
No heart attacks!
Just get the job done, with a bit of flare!

We might actually win a cup someday.
Play the strongest 11 possible and go for it.
Actually looking forward to this one.

I think (hope!) we'll be too strong for them, even if we play some, '2nd 11 guys'.
I wonder how many of their faithful will make the long journey down & back for a Wednesday evening match? 3½ hrs, 190 miles, each way...penalties might make 'em home later but no 30mins extra time, remember?
Still, weather looks pretty good for it & for someone's birthday, the next day

Adrian
Fredericks Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice
Snodgrass Obiang
Perez Silva/Hernandez Yarmolenko
Not keen on that midfield three because of risk of injury but we literally have no other options other than Sanchez but he could only really replace Rice who I want to give more game time.
If Hernandez isn’t fit I’d play Silva to give him some game time

Re: West Ham United v Macclesfield Town: League Cup Rd 3 (26/9)
Do we have any youngsters who are vaguely ready for the first team, apart from Oxford?
In years gone by we always played a couple of random youngsters in the early rounds of the League Cup, but I haven't really heard anything about those who are making any headway.
I don't have a problem with giving one or two a game for this
If we were playing a championship or even a half-decent league 1 side I would be an advocate of a full strength side, but Macclesfield really are a poor side

This is looking like a good cup draw now we have a few points on the board. If we can win this one then we'll be putting a little bit of form together.
Not going to be easy this one, but I reckon we'll run out 3-1 winners. Hopefully it doesn't go to pens!

We "should" beat Macclesfield in their current form with a whu B team.
Adrian,
fredricks, oxford, ogbonna, cresswell
snodgrass, sanchez, holland
perez, Silva, Chicharito
No idea who is fit though and we need to use more kids.

Holland/Pask perhaps? I'd like to see 2/3 in there as well.
