Re: Gold and Sullivan ???

I was dreading this. Sullivan has kept very quiet lately but if Pellers shapes a successful team we are going to hear how he was sulli's man and he's backed him all the way etc. This may be true but it's taken him a few goes to get it right. Still I suppose it's better than having another cheapo flop foisted on us. :)

Diop played almost 100 games for Toulouse, and for the French U16-21 teams.
It doesn't take much scouting to recommend us looking at him.

I can post on here that we should take a look at William Bianda, Dayot Upamecano, Joris Gnagnon or Abdou Diallo.

It's annoying that he just could keep his mouth shut.

Haha I called exactly this out before the season started, I knew Sully would go to the press to blame Pelli and his DOF for any bad signings and then take credit for any decent signings, class A ****

. . . it was West Ham co-owner David Sullivan who first identified Diop as a possible signing, with manager Manuel Pellegrini and director Mario Husillos deciding to move for the 21-year-old . . ."
It's an odd one, that, because everything else in that piece is from the weekend's pressers or post-match interviews. It's almost as if that piece was created just to drop this nugget into.

Most unlike Ken Dyer.

Strange there was no mention of who scouted him when he was struggling to get into the side . :)

Anyway , it's great that young Issa is settling into the Premier League nicely - potential Hammer Of The Year ?

I still find it hilarious that Sulli couldn't wait to announce how Arnautovic was Bilic's pick and he had nothing to do with it during those difficult first games!

What with that and Anderson's comments about how much he had to thank Mr Sullivan for his signing... It's as transparent as getting players to say nice things about his Krays film.

If a position could ever be found for Slaven Bilic at West Ham he would have benefitted a lolt from watching how Manuel Pellegrini works - Slav had brilliant man management skills about him but probably got too close to the players and they treated him as a mate rather than a boss .

It's unlikely he'll be back under these owners after sniggering at the dildo brothers joke .

Dildo Dave sullivan just cannot resist the urge to start gobbing off and make a fool of himself. I was hoping that he had put an end to his PR gaffes. Silly me!

you forget that apart from making money, his main interest in owning a football club is self-aggrandissment. he's not alone in this, but he is an expert

In another article I read, there are direct quotes from Mark McKay, the esteemed football agent, stating that it was him that drew Diop to Sullivan's attention. That article from Dyer seems to have omitted that for some reason.

But yeah, it is all a bit desperate and predictable on Sullivan's part.

yeah that seems to be the scouting technique these days. See who the agent is touting this month. I was amazed when bilic revealed that was how we got payet as well.
