Re: the dinner thread
My beautiful missus works late on Wednesday so I’m left to cook for myself, last night it was Frey bentos steak and kidney pie with oven chips and peas, it won’t win any Michelin stars but it done the job!

Fancied crispy duck tonight. Checked the local Chineses and the cheapest half duck I could find was £18. WTF? Went to Waitrose and picked one up for £8.

What do you do about the pancakes? My wife's made her own before but they're a touch thick compared to what you'd get from a take away. I've attempted them before but cocked them up and have never revisited them.DasNutNock wrote:Fancied crispy duck tonight. Checked the local Chineses and the cheapest half duck I could find was £18. Came with the duck. I’ve tried making them, too, and they were a massive failure.Monkey Mike wrote:What do you do about the pancakes? Eh? At Waitrose in Weybridge? Or do you mean the new one in Addlestone? The Weybridge one’s walking distance from our gaff, hence why our bank statement shows at least 40 debits a month from there.
