have to agree...although I haven't seen much of the Atlanta lad and he does get rave reviews...

not too many players from the MLS do well from what I can make out...

Jeff Cameron - Stoke decent
Cameron Carter-Vickers - Spurs reserve
Emerson Hynderman - Bournemouth reserve
Antonee Robinson - Everton reserves
Danny Williams - Huddersfield
DeAnre Yedlin - Newcastle; sold to them after not making an impact at Spurs

they have hardly set the world on fire..admittedly it is a HUGE jump and time may be needed...but if the asking price is 30M from the MLS - he had better be someone like Arguero

What a strange list to reference MLS. Only two of those six players have every played there and one of them isn’t even a yank.

While I understand some of the negativity towards Dimitri Payet , he's still a very good footballer and if we don't sign him then someone else will - you don't turn down quality - Diangana could learn so much from the little Frenchman and he'd link up brilliantly with Marko and Felipe .

Bring it on and let's go for an European spot and the FA Cup !

Would rather go for someone like Rodrigo De Paul of Udinese than Almiron

Greatest hits

I pulled it off a website listing Americans in the UK..

sorry if they ain't accurate........

certainly Yedlin and Cameron did.....Seattle and Houston

American goalkeepers have done well in the past, John Harkes and McBride and Dempsey did very well.

have researched it now and all of them play for the US national team - sorry about the direct reference to the MLS

but the two who did play, Yedlin and Cameron have been "okay." nothing spectacular...Hyndman played youth in Dallas.

To change the subject a tad...

I know we all moan about AC and injuries, but at least he's not Danny ****ing Wellbeck! I think he outdoes AC on injuries. Bet Arsenal are rueing not flogging him in the summer when they had the chance.

If the rumours about Llorente leaving Spurs to go back to Spain are true I would be very happy with Carroll coming in to replace him as an alternative option to Kane.

Will never happen but would be interesting to see Kane and Carroll up front together too.

Sabitzer for Red Bull last night was whipping in some ridiculously delicious velvet curling crosses that any striker worth their salt would die for

Nasri would take months to get fit, he's not played for about a year I think, and barely played since 2015. Would be up there with the Mido and Tristan signings.

I think every Prem club would love to have Carroll as a back-up option, especially if he's available on the cheap. Would far rather we kept him. Guess the issue our end are the wages he's taking up.

I think you have wasted enough money on the stadium build without going in for Carroll.

I do get what you are saying and also think that he could be one of the best subs / squad players in the whole Premier League if used in the right way. But trust us when we say, he just can't be counted on to look after himself and stay fit. You'd get a decent month out of him and then something would happen.

I'd love to have a fully fit (even 80% fit would do) Carroll on the bench every week to turn to.There are genuinely not many better to throw on for the last 15 - 20 min of a game. That all adds to the frustration of the man sadly.

Sullivan rubbing his little hands together; "Famous name, played for a decent club, free you say?"

Don't let him see this

Weirdly I was just thinking about this bloke's performances yesterday. Only seen a few highlights of him towards the end when Stoke were slipping but I recall being impressed by him.
