Re: A thread to discuss depression and other mental issues...
Cheers guys.
They've removed 6 (Six) [Little nod to the Vidiprinter there] Transitional Cell Carcinoma from my bladder. All been sent off for analysis so they can work out what stage they are at.
I'm still very groggy as those that have been in hospital know full well you never get a good night's sleep.
Back to hospital next Tuesday for a CT scan.
Prognosis is I'm likely to lose my bladder due to the sheer amount I had - one or two, then removal of them and a bit of chemo would sort it, but because there are so many, the chances of them all being non-invasive are extremely slim.
I just need to hope that they're only restricted to my bladder, because the prognosis will then be pretty bleak.
I'm now at home, going to rest up and scream each time I piss...

Re: A thread to discuss depression and other mental issues...
There may well be some toilet type changes and some other things to come to terms with around that similar area.
But I'm still pretty happy with the outcome DL.....(but naturally it's only your opinion the matters
a jot here. But it could have been far worse.
Much hope imo. For a cure and a possible treatment.
Fingers crossed. I admire your bravery. Bravery doesn't mean never being **** scared. It's that we do things that MAKE us **** scared and overcome them. That's real courage..............that's real bravery and you've done it with much grace on here.
xx

It's not a great thing to happen to a 44 year old man but as DC says it's a lot better than the alternative -davids cross wrote:There may well be some toilet type changes

You're in the best of hands , you will be well looked after - there will be some psychological changes to begin with but given time you should be able to do almost everything you did before and knowing the man you are you're going to cope just fine .

Ron, I think you speak for us all on this one.Mega Ron wrote:DL, I love you buddy.
Some incredible responses on here from the Kumb snuggers.
Samba, Davids Cross, Tomos, S-H etc etc ( you know who you are).
DL , I have nothing to offer you in the way of advice, I know very little about this sort of thing apart from what that complete arse Mr Google tells me.
What I do know is that you are a fighter, you are smart, and you are a stubborn git at times.
This can only work for you and not against you.
Good luck mate and please if you need anything at all dont be scared to ask, there are many on here only too willing to help.
Keep fighting!

DL - I can't offer any easy words, but just remember and always remember, there are a load of us just a PM away if needed; or if not that, an ear to bend on here.
You've got a lot of justly-accumulated love/respect on here fella, so just know you can call it in with a lot of people on here whenever required.

Re: Mental Health (free course starting 28th Jan 2019 - page 66)
There was a program on CH5 last night, think it was called "my addiction to alcohol" or similar name. There were some famous faces, Gary Charles being one, but also your average Joe's like us.
I appreciate it was regarding alcohol, which may help a few on here, but the really interesting part of why they chose alcohol is relevant to many on here going through tough times.
Pretty much everyone had hit rock bottom due to anxiety/depression/fears, they chose drink, but again, all had mental health problems that are seen on this thread.
Pretty much all of them are now clean, and pretty much all of them got better by talking/asking for help, I know I / many have said this before, but talking & asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, watch this program and see how people have/are recovering.
DL, I know you won't stop, just keep fighting the good fight Good to see you back as well Rars
