And so do I. Obviously Rio went on to do good things, but I don't remember him consistently this good at West Ham.Colours never run wrote: I think so too.
Declan looks like a 19 year old playing with 10 year olds in the park. (football). He's got so much time, both on the ball and defensively too with his anticipation.
I'd love to think we've got enough quality, and will add more that players like Rice look around the dressing room, see Anderson, Diop, Nasri, and think it's worth staying for a long time.

Loved that he's loving it so much, but talks so sensibly about the match and warmly about the other players.Paddy O'Hammer wrote:Oh god....this is just wonderful! Loving him even more..........

Re: Declan Rice
You’re not supposed to be able to tackle any more. This kid is turning it into a new art form.
Tracks runners, stays on his feet, and just nicks the ball. Clean. You never see him go to ground. After Fernandinho is there anyone better in that role currently?
City are rumored to be interested at 50 million. That won’t even buy his left nut. Fortunately, he’s already that good that there’s only really a handful of clubs who’ll be able to afford to spend what he’s gonna cost on a defensive midfielder.

Re: Declan Rice
It's amazing that Chelsea let him go. Read this week that when he was released John Terry heard about it and was flabbergasted. He called Declan immediately and told him so encouraging him to double his work efforts at his next club and he'd break though.

Re: Declan Rice
I believe rice has said a couple of times interviews that John Terry is one of his greatest influences in football and a massive role model for him due to how good he was to him at chelsea

Re: Declan Rice
Listening to a 19 year old with a grin like the Cheshire cat talk about a game of football he genuinly really enjoyed is very refreshing. Good for him, and his family will be over the moon. Im happy i can say i watched declan rice live as he is everything that football should be and simply class. 19 year olds shouldnt be able to read the game like he does and shouldn't have the physical strengh of a fully grown man as he doesn't get pushed around. He has everything and luckily we have a manager who knows this.

Re: Declan Rice
John Terry may well have been an early influence on his career, but make no mistake the influence Mark Noble would have made nursing him through his time since he signed for us til this very day. It's clear as day how much is rubbing off on him and how he hangs on the Captain's every word out there. Let alone the things he'll be saying to him behind the scenes.
