Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
Wonder if the club may take the view that they sell Arnie and reinvest the funds in centre midfield (or elsewhere) and we have enough to ‘muddle through’ with a loan singing or something up front.....
Wouldn’t be the first time they will have taken the view that they want to sort out the striker position in the summer window.

Crazy Money for an average Premier League striker, that just happens to be English.
£50m the asking price? Ok, I'm out. I do rate the player though.

Batshuayi's goals per minute is staggeringly good. At £14m it would be a give away.
Some similarities in the stats to Anderson's.

Are we talking about the same Medal that was at Cardiff a few seasons ago, he was beyond awful. If so a return to previous owner signings starts again, I must admit I thought Nasri would be a mistake, old, unfit. I was wrong, selling Obiang for Medal is balancing the books, nothing else.

He wouldn't be a replacement for Arnie however - moreso for Hernandez and Perez long term.
Origi's record is a bit **** however

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
diawara in would be good but more likely medel or shelve
obiang out 10m bit low but no loss as long as we replace.
perez out for 2m no loss silva takes his place.
oxford 10m to germany. get rid offers nothing and pelle not impressed.
another CB needed as Balbuena out for 2 months leaving diop and ogbonna as our only CBs . don't want to have to move rice back as weakens our midfield too much
leaves a CF to replace Arnie ?

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
We need to set our sights higher than Origi and Bats, wait until the summer, get the right player in, we need someone like Arnie, so strong, quick, good link up play, can play up front alone, good finisher. It's quite a list and it's why we should be looking for 70 million for Arnie.

This is by far and away the right answerPeaches wrote:If we are to spend £40m on a striker we’d be much better off paying Maxi Gomez’s €50 (£45m) release clause
Having himself another fabulous season, proper tough little ****er with a good goal scoring record 9 in 17 so far this season, would be our main striker for years to come

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
The way we are playing now, a more fluid game and not so dependent on a big lump up front is why I think Bats would do alright for us. Especially if the 14m is true he seems like a bargain. then re can reinvest the rest of the arnie money on a top class speedy midfielder alongside rice
